I’m still beyond THRILLED that “ICKEY” fell right into our #6 pick. While Ekwonu may not be able to address all of the issues with Darnold, adding him & upgrading the line 95% will afford Darnold to have the protection that has been lacking for Darnold’s entire career. NO MORE EXCUSES! This season, IF IF IF Darnold wins the starting QB position, will quite possibly his last opportunity to prove that he can be a successful franchise QB in the NFL. I was still a wee bit disappointed that we were unable to trade back & pick up a couple of second round picks. But if we had moved back, we would have missed “Ickey” & would have possibly have ended up with Pennington – still not too bad, but definitely not Ikem Ekwonu. Also, according to Fitterer we didn’t have the offers to trade back. Everything worked out as it was meant to work out, so I’m still celebrating. I’ve already place a EKWONU jersey on my October birthday list. I’m still hoping that we can somehow sneak into the second round & pick up a QB or a solid defensive lineman. It’s done now man.. I’m glad we got a big boy TACKLE. But I was one of the ones who was satisfied with Brady at TACKLE. But we got to make the best of this situation. I’m optimistic he’ll be better then Brady next year. Don’t see him hitting on all cylinders his rookie year
