Yeah, I don’t buy that the GM position will have final say. The GM will be inheriting an existing coaching staff and an incumbent QB that still has a lot of questions surrounding him. I think it is safer to say that if the GM acquits himself well, and the Broncos still struggle in 2021, then the GM will have final say to do whatever he wants.
This situation is quite similar to the colts back in 2017. Ballard inherited chuck pagano then dumped him at the end of the year. If Fangio doesnt get this team ready to play next season i can see a similar fate for him.
Um…. the GM doesn’t have to keep Lock, that is why many are saying John Elway moving away from GM is a big hit for Lock. The only thing he doesn’t have power over is the coaching staff. But……. it could be a 1 year deal like many teams before, and if it doesn’t work out with Fangio, he can get rid of Fangio after 1 year.
