The Steelers really may need a trash season to slap them back into reality. Making the playoffs last season probably didn’t help them.

Kinda agree. They had an awful Oline last season but went into the new one without much quality addition.
If they do make a QB change it won’t be till the by week I’m sure, Tomlin doesn’t make changes quickly he lets things develop and he’s gonna give Mitch every opportunity to succeed, if he continues to struggle he might make the change at the bye week but it wouldn’t surprise me if he stuck with Mitch all year, it’s just how Tomlin is.
Mitch is unconfident he cant throw the ball deep without getting scared. I like mitch hes a ok qb but We cant lie here he isn’t confident enough and that Steelers oline was horrible just saying

@Brian Baer what does mike tomlin do well that contributes to a winning football team that another coach could not do? he doesn’t call the offensive defensive or special teams plays yet is sure quick to fire his coordinators to save his own job when he needs to. you tell me what he does well
@monka S well I can name a bunch, let’s start with his defensive schemes, he runs that defense since Lebeau left, Keith butler didn’t, he runs it now to with help from Flores. Top 10 defense most years. He also drafts well, also players want to play for him. He has no eye for ocs but bill can’t draft wrs, every coach has a weakness
@Brian Baer is it not a huge flaw that his defensive schemes and players were never good when the offense was buzzing with the killer Bs? it only took him 9 first round players on defense to get it done which doesn’t seem like a great indictment for him…
Offense need a spark for their touch schedule ahead. After the jets it’s at bills, bucs, at dolphins, at eagles

Watching this Steelers team is infuriating. The offense can’t stay on the field and the defense is getting killed. If Tomlin is going to keep starting Trubisky and let Canada continue to call plays, he can kiss his winning record streak goodbye.
It’s not a winning record, it’s a not losing record.
Steelers fan here. I’m halfway hoping we lose most our games. I think it’s the only way for the organization to realize this isn’t working and make big changes
Change is always good. I think a new coach and GM are needed for the Steelers. Tomlin had a great run but he’s gone stale. It’s always refreshing to start coaching elsewhere wherever he lands.
@Brian Baer – the comebacks are on Ben…. No huddle hurry up and calling his own plays—that’s not an adjustment, that’s out of desperation. He had 7 in their 9 wins last season and there was nothing that Tomlin nor Canada did to adjust other than getting out of the way.
Don’t compare Flacco to Ben or any other HOF caliber QB. Not even Ravens fans do that.
The 2017 no playoff wins—only mentioned as a fun fact because of how new to the league those piss poor examples were. To anyone NOT NEW, the obvious was inherently known—it’s about the long game where he took over a SB team and how it’s deteriorated despite having top tier talent—Lefluer and McDermott don’t fall into that category—you were supposed to bring up SP as the comp but I’m not here to do your work for you.
This is knit picking, but yeah, I do like that those teams won playoff games before losing—it showed that they belonged in the postseason and not limping in thanks to cheap Jax win prior to another beat down 42-28 points on the opposing scoreboard as we saw for the last 3 trips.

It starts with the head coach. Tomlin needs to go and most Steeler fans know it. The front office needs to wake up and make changes.
They aren’t watching the full game. Mitch’s stats and highlights aren’t bad. But you watch the whole game you see how bad he is.
Yeah he is shrek pretty much, wide open Johnson , Pickens he throws into double coverage. Just inconsistent.
It’s true that Mitch is limited, but he’s also just not making the best decisions so I blame it on him and canada
Wow, they definitely didn’t watch this game. Trubisky’s stats are not nearly as bad as his performance and Najee was missing holes all night. He also whiffed on blocks.
How about we recognize the offensive plans have just sucked since 2019? We got away with it because of talent and talent alone.
Need a strong offensive mind on that coaching staff. And need Mitch to make those deeper throws instead of overthrowing like crazy. If he dials it in and the play calling gets better, they can make it work.
Talent has been covering the coaching on both sides of the ball for a decade plus.
Notice when Mitch takes a snap he doesn’t read his Recievers at all. He looks to 1 player and that’s where he throws it

Steelers passed on Dan Marino in 1983 and suffered at QB until 2005. Reminds me of them days

Fire Canada mid season, start fresh at oc next year. Let trubisky finish the year and start Pickett next year. Hopefully get a top 15 pick and take the #1 corner
You’ll know the time to start Kenny Pickett. When it’s unanimous that Trubisky has to go, look in the vid, you still got one against, one for and one undecided on if Pickett should start. When it’s everyone on all the shows, then it’ll be time. Sure the Jets might be a good game to start him, but the 4 games after are the toughest all season. After the bye week though? Only 3 very tough games left and a bunch of winnable ones.

There’s a big issue in receivers getting no separation, and also with us not scheming guys open either. Just about every throw is into a very tight window. Very rarely do we have a guy who’s just flat out open, even though our opponents have guys wide open 75% of the game.
They need these early wins. The schedule in the middle of the seasons is tough.
The Steelers squander opportunities like crazy. I knew this team was in trouble when they couldn’t take advantage of a turnover to save their lives
