Okay so lemme ask this….would you rather have someone who already proved he could win and take the Browns of all teams to the Playoffs and BEAT the Steelers in the Wild Card or Sam Darnold who never won with anyone even with a solid WR core in Carolina?

Darnold is a good back-up at best, bottom of the league starters and Mayfield is a starter, 20 to ~15 rated in the league depending on the rating criteria. It makes the Panthers more competitive. They didn’t pay much in draft capital, and are good on cap space, why wouldn’t you want to upgrade? If Darnold suddenly gets better, then great he wins the job, just that that does not happen very often. Mayfield can get better too, he is young and can improve his game with the right coaching and offense. I still don’t think it is enough to be better than TB or NOLA, but more competitive.
Yeah “win” when Steelers collapsed and gave away the Ball 4 times in only 1 qtr…. And still the browns almost lost

@Elias Gonzalez Yes, quarterbacks get either too much credit of too much blame for wins/ loses, it’s a damn team sport. Granted the quarterback position is the most pivotal/ important, but people want to isolate QBs.

Its not a bad trade for the panthers. And btw the panthers needed a Qb cuz sam daronald is not a starting qb. He is basically a backup qb

All we’ll hear this season is Mayfield, Tua, and Wilson. Wilson hasnt been great lately and the other 2 are mediocre at best.

You could’ve put any quarterback on those browns teams and they would have had success. They had one of the best running games over the past years.

Baker is a huge upgrade. If Sam plays well he’s an overpaid backup. Matt needs to sit and absorb and go in when games are out of hand.
Baker helped turn around a losing organization into a contender and based on what we’ve seen from Darnold, Baker is light years ahead of him.

Browns went from contending Bengals for #1 in AFCN to the laughing stock. Even Steelers are better as well
