    @Todd Berenson Yea, unfortunately neither of them is looking like they know what’s happening, especially in coverage. Lloyd has been good vs the run, for the most part, and Muma has been bad in his limited time there. Yesterday they were both very bad.

    Lloyd missed almost all of camp. Not a lot of time for teaching during the season. He’s learning on the fly, and he’s done a lot of good things. He’s also had a ton of struggles. But Muma had the whole offseason, and he has been bad when he’s played. Bottom line is you’d like both guys to get reps, and we’ll see a lot more about who they are in 2023. I think Caldwell is asking these linebackers to do too much. Oluokon has had his struggles as well. They’re being asked to do more in coverage than they can handle right now. That’s why everyone is killing us underneath, every week.

Real takes: play chad muma and put Lloyd at edge, stop the zone bullcrap we are a more man team with Campbell and griffin bring man guys, play smoot more, play walker little for Robinson, and for gods sake give etn some more carriers on well designed runs and he’ll always provide. Defense play calling needs to be better period

    Muma was just as bad as Lloyd in pass game and worse vs the run. Lloyd is too small to play edge. Robinson is the best lineman, lol, so maybe you mean for Taylor who has regressed las two weeks.

    Muma wouldn’t be able to last as an NFL edge. He ain’t got that skillset, that I’ve seen. He’s good a blitzing but he’s not a pass rusher.

I agree that Lawrence is getting better. But calling the game against the Texans – where they gave up 13 points – a defensive failing is a joke. The Jaguars scored 6 points and Lawrence threw a pick inside the 5.

Muma has been bad. Lloyd has been bad too. Lloyd has more talent. And he’s been better vs the run. But both guys have looked completely lost in coverage lately. But Lloyd had a run of probably 4 games to start the year where he was lights out. You gotta ride the wave and let Lloyd play.

You are %100 wrong about Muma. He is special. And he does have some of the same ball skills as Lloyd. It is a good problem to have deciding between these two rookies. But make no mistake, Muma has the “it” factor and the more snaps he gets, this will be the conversation. You are putting too many eggs in the “first round pick” basket.

You guys aren’t going in on the defenses lack of ability to make key stops enough. Other than Cisco the defense has looked soft for over a month.
