WTH just happend

Chris Parker

Why does this guy always come across as drunk especially during the on field interview during the game lol

    Phantom Shadowfax

maybe you aren’t as perceptive as you may think you are? just a thought

    Don

Why is there at least one idiot in every comments section who focuses on how McDaniel speaks or how many times he says “uh”?

    Mike Hames

When you have an IQ above 160… he probably has 25 different thoughts going on and he purposely slows his speech to ensure it’s accurate.

    Montego

@Don Thank you for your post… I am always tempted to say that myself:)

Wheelchairmanjon

Stay focus, positive and strong. Hope you figure it out. Coach get the first playoff win in 21 years, hopefully run the ball more.

    Willie Arrington

He came from a good coaching tree he should know the Shanahan blue print to get these last three wins shanahan is winning with a 3rd string QB get her done

Sam

How do I watch the rest. I need the answer to the last question about the retro uniforms

    Ashton Spencer

I was wondering the same thing

We have a coach that loves his players and their efforts. It’s great! We have great things ahead!

I think you guys have a great team and I’m actually a fan of the Miami Dolphins and I really hope we can win these three games or these two games we really need that one

Vivian Martin

CraigV367 GOD's Man

@TyreekHill – you are my 9 year ols sons favor player. I’m the Dolphin fan and he is a Chiefs fan but you’re still his favor… Blessing to you and your family

James Hribar

I personally believe in Coach McDaniel, I keep hearing all the garbage about how he lost us the game against Buffalo. Before him we never had a chance, he continues to be aggressive and I for one appreciate that. Teaching a team to play with confidence and believing that they can get it done will serve us better in the future. When it’s not successful he uses that to show his players the importance of execution.
He is establishing tendencies, tendencies he can later break down the road in the playoffs when every team believes they know what he will do.
Go Dolphins!

    Jeff

All of what you said is true. However, his poor play calling in certain spots did contribute to that loss. Both can be true

    James Booth

@Jeff sure everything contributes to the loss. Every dropped pass, every bad throw, every missed tackle, every miss on a pass, bad route, injury, whatever.
What I’m seeing from a lot of the comments is blame on one or two plays specifically “You don’t pass on third and 1!!!!” and then no mention of any of the other things I mentioned.

The same people didn’t mind when we passed on 4th and 1 against the Patriots and caught them off guard, splitting the two safeties and getting a TD with Waddle.

The same people didn’t mind it when we threw on 3rd and short this past game and got a TD with Waddle or all the 4th and shorts we’ve gone for over the season and thrown that have turned into first downs.

I like Tua, but vs the Chargers he had a horrible game. The guy went 3 for 17 in the first half, and the vast majority of the comments on YouTube, FB, twitter, and even reporter questions were along the lines of “you need to change up your game plan. Run more and add in some screens.” I’m already going on to long, but I’d happily address that.

Regardless, the next game, our run game looks so much better. We even got a 68 yard run (which led to less attempts since it ate up a chunk of the field and huge portion of that drive).

Now, I hear stuff like “We only ran 3 times in the fourth quarter!” Sure, but context is never given. Nobody mentions the first play of the 4th was a 3rd and 3. We get the ball back after the fumble.

    What do we do?
    1st down, run for 11
    1st down, run for 6
    2nd down, pass
    3rd down, pass

Our first full drive of the 4th, we run 50% of the drive.

    The next drive,
    1st down, pass for 13
    1st down, pass for 21
    1st down, run for 1
2nd down, we throw a screen pass for a loss.

Our passing game is successful, we run even more, and we change it up by adding screens (like many fans were asking for).

Now, it’s 3rd and 12. Should we have run it here?

Sure. Had he called some things differently, maybe we could have run. But that’s true with any game. If the players executed better on certain plays too, we definitely could have won.

This is the best our offense has looked in years, and we have fans zeroing on some plays they think they would have called differently, forgetting the success of his unconventional approach that led us to a lot of our success.

We have a coach who believes in and supports Tua. We don’t have a coach who got lucky, squeaked by the Patriots because they fumbled in our territory, lost 7 straight (including the 20-loss Jaguars with Urban Meyer), and then won 7 games mostly by playing bottom 5 teams or the Saints who were missing 22 of their 53 players (and that was just from covid).

Guy

Ezukanma needs to be activated, this kid is talented. Give him the experience and chance to perform. Not utilizing him is hurting his development not to mention a waste in a fourth round pick.

    princess disrespect

@Willie Arrington he needs work. I watched him miss way too many tackles

    Willie Arrington

@princess disrespect okay let me ask you this name one player on our defense that didn’t miss a tackle or just didn’t tackle lol 😂

    Jason Meyers

@Willie Arrington Tackling was much better this week than other games for sure.. Josh Allen beat us.. and coaching beat us. We shut down their run game, shut down Diggs and their receivers and we ran the ball all over them.. Tua played damn good and our top 2 receivers had good games.. defense couldn’t stop Allen in the end and Knox was too open, too often but would u rather Knox be open or Diggs/ Davis beating us deep.. it’s a pick your poison spot to be in but we played well enough to win that game and just didn’t finish.. we’ll get better from this.

    Willie Arrington

@Jason Meyers Na’ll I’d rather have a defensive coordinator that called better defensive plays

    MacaDamian

@Jason Meyerswe also didn’t run the ball enough(specially on 3rd and short) which could have given us chances to score more and win so there’s also that.they need to do more of that and not pass on 3rd and short like it’s madden

Patrick Mullowney

These Miami beat writer questions are the worst. How about it’s 29-29 and you’re driving midway in the fourth quarter. What was your thought process to get a TD in this situation given the fact the running game had been so effective in the first half?

It’s terrible how the beat writers fail to address issues the coach should answer to.

    islanderws

He already answered that question. He said he totally trusted his players. You win some, you lose some. You learn from it and move on. These are the games that you need to make those kinds of mistakes before the playoffs games.

    Jeff

I absolutely agree with you!! What’s with the softball questions? Are they afraid to ask tough questions?

Alexander Perez-Sanz

Hey coach great offense but we should’ve kept handing Raheem the ball on 3rd n short in the 4th Q

    Daeshaun Morton

We abandoned the run early all the time

    RR_NOOB

Most RB have a set number of plays they can handle

Babu Rabi

This team needed to be built from the ground-up, including culture. McDaniel is doing that. Let’s be patient.

Jeff

McDaniel 20-minute offense is pretty good. Turn each question into a 5-minute answer full of pregnant pauses and a bunch of uuhhs, aahhs and hhmms and limit the actual number of questions to four maybe five. Brilliant!

Devan aire Mccallister

BANG BANG NINER GANGGGG!!!

Mitchell Bowser

Man Mike is ready for the off-season. I’m so excited to see what he can draw up after a year of experience and getting guys back from injury. Hoping for a playoff spot this year but I’m just overall happy things are looking up

    RR_NOOB

Ready for the off season? nah brah I’m sure he wants to go deep into the playoffs

Phin-Addict Fury with Larry K.

Don’t care about the jokes. Just call better games Mike.

Colm O'Driscoll

Please Mike learn from your mistakes. In the last three games now, you have abandoned the run game early. If the game is well within reach and going well, DO NOT abandon the run game bro.
