Year 3 they should be competing for wildcard and year 4 def a playoff team. This year is about improvement. 7 to 8 wins is a good season. 9 would be outstanding. In my opinion.

I had hoped time had made them a little better. Yesterday reminded me just how bad it is. Right now, if Goff went down we are absolutely screwed.

@B Holt they started off 0-9-1 with Goff last year and that was with Swift, Hockenson and St. Brown all playing as well. It’s not like Goff had them rolling so I doubt any back up will save the team.

@Adam B34 Goff was fine, the losses were far more then Goff not slinging perfect games. Our tackle situation is just as bad as QB imo. We lose a tackle and Goff is gonna look like boyle

@tim daining Goff was fine? He started off 0-9-1 and was 33rd in Air Yards Per Completion, 17th in Passer rating and 25th in QBR. The offense failed to score over 17 points 9 times in his 14 starts. He was 22nd in td%.

This is where you blame everyone but Goff…

I believe that it will be the same ol song and dance. Every team in this league knows that they can destroy the Lions defense through the air and that’s what they’re doing. Pre-season, regular season, irrelevant. If ya can’t defend the pass, you will continue to lose. Defense wins Championships!

@Ian our pass rush is so much better w hutch. it’ll help the secondary a ton. if hutch goes does then yea we’re prolly in trouble. but i think we’ll be ok. d played pretty well yesterday against steelers starters

I think Blough is the back up. He’s been there a couple years now. He knows the offense, which is big. If you bring someone else in, they don’t know the offense. He has to be at least given the shot over bringing in a guy like Mason Rudolph, who isn’t even a step up.

Here’s the thing about back up qbs. If you don’t have one of the 2-3 decent ones then you don’t need to invest in the position.

How he has these guys buying in and ready to run through a brick wall… but now you’re saying this team lacks heart? 🤣😂. 6-7 wins is realistic and would be a nice step forward and a really nice season to build on!
