Hangin’ with the Boys: Not Enough Show… | Dallas Cowboys 2022

… Because the Cowboys didn't show enough. Time to break down the disaster that was the season-opening loss to Tampa Bay, most notably the injury to Dak Prescott and the play of the offensive line and wide receiver corps. At least Micah Parsons provided some feel-good moments, right?

When Most things( offensively) FAIL like last nights debacle, KISS FACTOR sounds like the obvious game plan for awhile!!

Trainer Joe

Nate is always so right…he has great football wisdom and common sense!!!

Cris Samuels

Thank you Jesse! You had the balls to say it. I’ve been saying Moore is a bad offensive coordinator for the last 3 years. He is the 1st and biggest problem.

    Roger Staubach

Cris garrett should of been fired after his 3rd year but Jerry’s ego wouldn’t allow it jerry kept him for 10 years just to prove he was right same as this incompetent Moore jerry wants to prove he was right in hiring him so tobthr detriment to the team jerry will keep him you need to getnrid of the 2 jones a clown and a court jester

    matasuki

    Facts. Watch what happens though

    LT

Yeah, he may end up gone for that. My pops told me to listen to his comment and that was powerful. 😬

    6 to midnight

I’ve been saying this for 2 Years now. Oh but we had the number one offense last year blah blah blah….context matters that’s all I got to say

    Ray & Chris Bragg

I agree…. Jesse, you are the most honest person on this blog. I believe all Cowboy fans appreciate your honesty.

KyleKatarn59

Kurt is overvaluing Tampa a bit. I do think they’re playoff worthy, but their depth loss on Defense and potential long term problems with the middle of their offensive line will linger all year long.

Of course, roster attrition dictates everything anymore.

GarlanD Mcgregor

Cowboy problems: Dorian Armstrong out of position the entire game, not setting the edge. LVE looked lost, missing his gap assignment, late on tackles, taking the wrong angle, not attacking the ball. Both players need to be benched or replaced.
Dak looked terrible before the injury.
Inaccurate passing, holding the ball to long, not reading the defense correctly. Offensive line have to cut down on the penalties. Its time to look for another QB in the draft. (Biggest Problem J.J.)What do you do next.

    S Z

Yes dak pump faked when he should’ve thrown an thrown to late cause of the useless pump or whT I think was indecision then made the right read to late

    Quinn Drone

Dak is the QB. That is not changing no time soon. Either deal with that or choose another from the 31.

ScoutboutdemCowboys!

We need our QBs to have Solid hot routes and audibles at the line of scrimmage. Defenses know what we’re doing before we do it.

gdubb 1228

Both ok his sacks came from the end over the LT Dan didnt really rush him through the a gap …he can keep getting chip like he did when Leonard hit him

Big Red TLC

Let’s give some props to Tyler Smith. He did pretty well for first time at LT. Some missed assignments but I saw him pass-block with tenacity and hold his ground. He’s a strong dude and he’s only going to get better.

    Dale Boyd

I’m gonna say the offensive line didn’t play terrible. This was more on the skilled positions

Ray Gaub

It’s ok to run the ball on 1st-15 or even 2nd-20. Nate is 100% correct if you want to eliminate penalties, QB injuries, help the defense and win.

Damon Davis

Should’ve played the staters in at least 2 preseason games…..to get acclimated

Tyler Wojnarowski

Nate is the man. He’s spot on when it comes to the O line and the run game

Damon Davis

The running 🏃‍♂️ game was working Tyler Smith #73 played pretty well at LT but Kellen Moore still gets away from the run 🏃‍♂️ way to early 🏃‍♂️ the🏈keeps the 🕰rolling and +keeps the G.O.A.T on the sidelines………Kellen is not the answer why McCarthy doesn’t take over play calling

Claude Asumadu

We NEED to RUN the BALL at least 30 plus times.. and on 3rd Downs please leave Zeke in the game

thegodparticle

NATE THE GREAT said all this stuff last week….great job Nate….

cirving01

Not sure what you saw but Tyler Smith held his own. Perfect…No! He did well.

Joe Taylor

I believe this OC and “scheme” would make any QB struggle.
And then when something is working you decide that everything you plan will work (it doesn’t) and never go back to what worked.
Then penalties every single time something actually works lol. Like wtf

Quinn Drone

They need to let Mike McCarthy call the plays.

Peter Serrano

this is what Jerry hoped for. Now to tank the season won’t look like they are tanking because the cowboys have no offense. And this makes Jerry happy, He wanted the boys to lose this season to get a high draft pick. He is not worried about the fan base and loss of revenue.

Mr Lo N Slo 64

“Give them a chance” requires good coaching. We have Kellen Moore and Mike Mccarthy as those coaches unwilling too. And whats funny to me is how quickly the league retracted from Kellen Moore as a leading candidate for a starting coaching role. I was so disappointed. I really wanted him gone. I’ve been beating on the table since this guy took over as OC. He ain’t it! And I’ll say it again HE AIN’T IT!!! Never anything vertical down the field. Reverse/jet sweeps always behind the line of scrimmage. Never threatening the defense with slants or deep routes. He doesn’t utilize Pollard right. Or any other player for that matter. He couldn’t cut as a Quarterback. Yet they choose to keep this guy around as a Coordinator? We shall FOREVER be mediocre. Until we make some drastic changes at Gm. Bobby ,Von and Julio was there for the takens. Players that’s difference makers. I remember when Brady was a free agent. I screamed go get him. While Dak was fighting contract negotiations. He wanted 40 mil. While Brady wanted 25 mil. And look what happened. Instantly Tampa bay was Superbowl champs. Dallas aint in the Championship business. Their in the marketing business. Just remain relevant. And I’m 42 so I seen the Championship teams and days.

Matthew Benjamin

Finally one of the most important truths about this team (timestamp 28:30) “Kellen Moore is a bad Offensive Coordinator”. I’ve been so mad at the Cowboys since the middle of last year when the league figured out he was basically Jason Garrett with a few variations. The guy has never earned his reputation as “one of the next bright young minds in football”. As usual, Jerry thinks he can will things into existence…thinking you have the new Sean McVay because you simply believe it, doesn’t make it true. FYI, important truth #2 is that Dak Prescott has been, is and always will be a slightly above average Quarterback that requires either lots of talent around him just to look decent and a good coach to minimize his deficiencies. The sad thing is, Dak hasn’t really ever had a good OC who he could perhaps become a good QB through. But Dak doesn’t win when it matters most, he’s got one playoff win in his 7 years, and he’s had more talent around him than Romo ever did. We should either trade for an elite arm talent, or just start the retooling (not rebuilding) fast. Our Defense is finally a strength after what seems like 20 years, lets not waste talent on that side of the ball trying to cling to this coaching staff and their QB. Get a proven winner in there with a good OC and lets get back to winning when it matters.
