I am a fan I just hated those danm interception though he never got over that like his first pass as a pro was an interception.

Sam is a good dude. But not a good qb. Hasn’t played a full season and when he did play, he made terrible decisions.
Am leaning towards Justin Fields. Why? He showed me he can handle pressure and still produce. Zach Wilson didn’t have any pressure in college. He played from a clean pocket, wide opened wrs. Mannnn this is up in the air for me.
He played for ohio state every game he played with the most talented team out side of Alabama
He also underthrows, has a weaker arm, has less cool, and isn’t any better of a leader or decision maker. Just because Wilson has more patients even with pressure in his face doesn’t make him have any cleaner of a pocket.

Glad I finally have a 2nd team to root for since the Jets season is always over after the 3rd week. I love Sam, but it was definitely time to move on. If you watch tape for the entire season, the guy was awful with his vision, read progression, and decision making. He is the biggest winner in this trade though cause he’s going to be coached by some brilliant offensive minds, and it’ll be the 1st time in his NFL career that he’s surrounded by weapons. They’ll probably even bring in Pitts for him. So here we go with yet another Jets rebuild. We better address the worst interior protection in football before we make Zach the next Darnold. 2 O-Linemen early in the draft, or don’t even let him play on that disaster of an O-line.

That’s not a good idea. Wait till next year to draft a QB, that class isn’t as good, if Sam is still bad.
Schrager making a big deal about the 21 picks the next two years. But it’s important to look at this in context. The jets are in a competitive division. They are clearly worst team in division. They better have better drafts than rest of division. It won’t be easy closing the gap.
Darnold is a good kid. He’s a pretty bad QB.

@Stephen Borda The panthers were a young team without their best player. Also, 8 of their 11 losses were by 1 score. Rhule did a great job in his first year. Gase isn’t even a HC, he was just a place holder.

Sam is going to a much better situation for him and he’s already familiar with Robbie Anderson. The Jets did better than a lower round 1st by picking up a 2nd, 4th, and a 6th. Everybody wins in this trade.
