Kevin tip hat to u u made some great moves in the free agency

We rarely make a huge splash in FA because we spend money keeping our own guys but the signing of Ebron could be a huge addition, Derek Watt will replace Matakevich on ST’s and contribute some on offense, Wisenewski (sp?) will provide solid depth at worst at G likewise for Wormley on the DL. For those wanting him to break the bank on a big name FA don’t forget TJ’s big payday is right around the corner and Minkah’s won’t be far behind.

Wisenewski will probably be the left guard cause Foster retired.

@a b There’s some talk of putting Feiler at LG and letting Chuk’s and Banner compete for the RT position but we’ll see.

I would like to ask Kevin and Mike Tomlin why they feel like Randy Fichtner should still be the offensive coordinator for this team because that has me and a lot of other longtime fans really concerned? Reason I say that is because despite the injuries and circumstances when hire a offensive coordinator isn’t the idea of making the offense more consistent and they should have progressed as the season went on however this was not the case actually it was the opposite and it was quite obvious that the each opponent literally seemed like they knew exactly what the Steelers offense was going to do in literally every game ? Also I noticed that a few usually confident player’s specifically James Connor and the running game really seemed to be regressing instead of progressing and in my opinion the comment Fichtner made about the running game after an early season defeat is something I have never heard from an offensive coordinator ever in the NFL and personally it was something I expected to hear from maybe a Cleveland Browns coordinator or coach not a Steelers coach or coordinator? I still believe that the Steelers could have made a lot more last season if they had an offensive coordinator who was good at game planning considering the QB situation? Mason Rudolph actually got this offense to literally rise from the grave when he came in off the bench when Ben got injured and in my opinion that was the best way to see exactly what kind of coordinator the Steelers had in Fichtner and it didn’t turn out that good? Especially once he had Mason Rudolph continuously exposed out of his horrid shotgun formation not only did he expose the young QBs he even had the running game working out of the shotgun and to me it was the worst offensive game planning I have seen since I have become a Steelers fan since the early 70s, and what really confuses me is Todd Haley wasn’t the best offensive coordinator either but Tomlin fired him even though the offense put up what 34 points in a playoff game against the Jaguars?? But keeps Fichtner after witnessing that he obviously doesn’t have the football knowledge to be an NFL offensive coordinator??? I’m not getting my hopes up for this team because the defense will definitely be one of if not the best defense in the entire league but sadly with or without Ben the offense just will not be good enough with Fichtner as the OC!!! Don’t understand why this issue wasn’t the first thing to be fixed because for how good that defense was last year the offense didn’t have to be great just decent and I have to be blunt as the season went on the offense got worse , now a few players did go above and beyond their capabilities and surprisingly it was Dionte Johnson and James Washington and when Ben first got injured I thought for sure Fichtner would be smart enough to come up with a more run oriented approach to his game planning but all he did was figure out a way to expose a couple very good young player’s in my opinion, it’s pretty bad when I’m watching the game and my sister is pointing out what the Steelers were going to do on offense for most of a game !!! Actually it was quite embarrassing lol. But it was happening more frequently towards the end of the season. So despite who they have acquired in free agency and who is the QB this offense will suck again if Fichtner remains the OC!!!

    Dylan McClintock

When Ben was healthy with this oc he threw for 5000 yards and 30 tds, the predictability came from the fact that the qbs were so bad teams knew that if they shut down the run they would win. There was never any consistency due to injuries. Now considering what is happening we probably won’t have otas for a new coordinator to implement their schemes which gives an advantage this season to the veteran coaches. There also are no coordinators on the market that would have been able to do better with the team fichtner was given.

    Kurt Hartz

@Dylan McClintock um you do realize Fichtner was not the offensive coordinator? He took over as the coordinator last year so maybe know what the hell you are talking about before you look like an idiot before making a un knowledgeable about football dumbass comment like you just did lmfao.

    Brad Barton

@ Kurt Hartz have you just woken up from a coma? Ficthner’s been the OC coach since Jan. 2018. Maybe YOU should do your research before shooting off your mouth and looking stupid, idiot.

@Brad Barton try QB coach moron

Much of what You’re saying isn’t on Randy but the Offense Personnel. Connor is responsible for what he brings or don’t bring to the table as well as every other player on the team. Randy’s Job is Not Everyone’s Job on the Offense. Randy’s Job is to work with the AB and watch tape of their opponents and come up with schemes and game plans to execute against their Game plans. It’s up to the players themselves to go out practice and execute those plays. That’s why they call them professionals. The have a job to do.. All of them. I think Many Fans think the NFL is run like High school or College football and it’s not. Connor also has a RB coach that he goes back and look over plays on the bench. As well as WRs as well. Despite what these Media Analysts will have you believe, 1 Person isn’t to blame no more than 1 gear in a watch not telling time. It takes a TEAM to Win Games and a TEAM With Luck and Without Mistakes to Win a Superbowl. Not just 1 Person.

I called both Bell and Brown rolling out years ago b4 they both did.

Steelers won’t be relevant for a few years. They need to plan for Ben’s retirement and start working on a qb to come up under him now.

If Ben gets hurt I am willing to bet he will retire. He has been in the league for a good while and has had a career many qbs wish for but…

He isn’t what he was nor does he have the firepower/offensive weapons at his disposal.

He has been contemplating retirement to concentrate on his family.

I believe if he gets injured that will seal the deal.

Those bumps & bruises hurt a lot more than they did a few years back.

Plus lets be honest, Bmore is the powerhouse in the division now.

That will remain the case for at least a few seasons.

Yes the Steelers have a great defense but in all honesth that is all they have.

They are mediocre everywhere outside of their kicker.
