Draft night: trade back to 6th and acquire a third round pick, draft Isaiah Simmons at 6th and take an O lineman at 36th and take a corner in the third round. We can use our conditional 3rd round pick on a WR who is a deep threat

You can deffo get more than a 3rd round pick if you trade with the chargers, the Giants have all the leverage. I would ask for atleast a 2nd rounder with the 6th pick and mby like a future 3rd rounder or a 4th round pick this year.
Historically, teams that have traded up this high in draft for a QB have had to sacrifice an arm and a leg. Doesn’t matter if it’s 1 spot up or more. At minimum, we should expect a 1st round and multiple 2nd round and/or 3rd round picks. If it’s with Miami, you’d want their 6th and 26th.
I expect Giants key moves to be more or less:
Cut Ogletree, Ellison, Bethea, which moves us up to 80 million in cap space from 67 million.
10 million is reserved for draft pick signings, 20 million (for in-season moves, which Gettleman wants).
So you have 50 million.
50 mil – Jack Conklin probably leaves you with 35 million, maybe 33 million.
35 mil – Byron Jones = 17 million OR 35 mil – Yannick = 12 million left.
Use 12 million to sign some solid vets (likely former Pats).
Draft Okudah/Simmons with a trade back to Miami or Chargers (hopefully) and gain additional 2nd rounders/3rd rounders, or end of first round picks. (Lions will take Simmons if they don’t trade back.)

Absolute best case scenario for the Giants is that Cincinnati Washington and Detroit sit right where they’re at and do not accept any offers for people to move up and New York is sitting at 4 and they can field offers from all the quarterback hungry teams and trade back with the team that sets them up the best to not lose out on a stud player while gathering picks
