My god! This man should’ve BEEN in the Hall of Fame. This is ridiculous how long they wait to put people like Brandt in there.
I hope, God willing, if I make it to 86 that I will be as vigorous and lively as Gil Brandt. The man is a ball of fire for someone his age.
As a Cowboy fan, (despite being new around 2014) I appreciate this Mr. Brandt’s efforts in making the Cowboys as America’s Team! You will always be appreciated and will always be loved by Cowboys Nation! Congrats and welcome to the Hall!
I’m crying so hard right now. I’m a 57 year old Texan and I grew up watching the Cowboys. I’m so proud of Gil Brandt. It’s long overdue. It was also so wonderful to see some of my favorites-Roger Staubach and Bob Lilly. And to hear that Hollywood has been sober for over 30 years, I’m so proud of him. I’m also glad that he reminded Jones about making him a “free agent”. I stopped watching the Cowboys after the ’89 season because of him and the way he treated Brandt, Schramm, and Landry. But today is about this-Gil Brandt’s in the NFL HOF!!!! Yay!!
I was born in 1960 a lifetime fan of the Cowboys; this was a walk down memory lane. Thank you Gil Brandt! Let’s get Drew Pearson in the hall next year!
