George H. McCaskey end-of-season press conference | Chicago Bears – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
1 million ♥️

Although I agree it was time to move past Matt and Ryan, keeping Ted Phillips will result in the same disastrous outcome. I’m tired of staying loyal to a team run by clowns. Let me know when the McCaskey’s finally sell the team. I’ve become emotionally detached.

    Devil Dog Crewchief

I had become indifferent to the Bears a few years after Ditka was gone and then Smith came and that changed for me quick and when He was gone (and I consider him the best Bears coach since Ditka) I felt the indifference again.

    Jimi

Exactly! The Bears will suck as long as Virginia McCaskey is alive. She won’t allow them to sell her daddy’s team as long as she is living.

    Corey Herzfeld

Agreed. And if our beloved Bears leave iconic Soldier Field for Arlington Heights I’ll officially check out as a lifelong Bears fan.

    Justin Malangoni

i said these same words at the end of last season, and i didn’t watch the bears all season and it was one of the best seasons to watch…. minus the defensive pass interference calls but that’s off subject.

Scruff Zilla

If it wasn’t clear before, this press conference should remove all doubt, George either doesn’t get it or doesn’t care. Both are damning.

    Jack Johnson

    That’s not clear at all.

    Graham B

    He DEFINITELY doesn’t get it.
Debatable whether he cares, I think he cares most about the money rolling in.

    dalyx4

He doesnt care to get it.

ChicagoBear 61

Wow! I’m so happy! Ted is helping with hiring a GM and head coach! Just wonderful. 8-9 here we come!

    Sid Fernandez

that’s pretty positive outlook. lol. I see 1-16

    ChicagoBear 61

    @Stevilkenevil99 I’m being sarcastic

    Gary Bednarz

Then Sir Ted why on earth were Ryan and Matt ever fired if you were happy with the hires.

    Jeep Guy

Most teams hire a GM and let him pick his own coach. Not interview a GM and a coach at the same time. I’m done being a Bears fan.

    Jr Golfer Ty

    Lol I see 0-17 lol

Nicholas Ornelas

Mark Potash going IN with those questions 😂😂

My freaking man

    Timothy Eads

@Jack Johnson , the question was totally justifiable and on point. Thought George had a terrible response like “The organization is telling me to continue”? The McCaskey family should be feeling heat for ineptitude. Long story short 37 years, 1 Superbowl. 37 years, 10 wins in the playoffs out of 23 playoff games. How’s this acceptable?

    Alex Hennigh

@Jack Johnson Found the George burner account guys

    Nick Trnka

@Jack Johnson Are you joking? He should be on the hot seat. Do you really think that George the billionaire gives two poo’s? His lack of football acumen is entirely the issue.

    owiz9212

Mark asks the questions that fans want answers to. He isn’t the kind of reporter that asks softball mealy-mouth questions.

Nicholas Ornelas

Everyone says clean house, bro they need to sell the property the house was built on.
George Halas, what a legend. He built this team into winners and helped build the league.
Unfortunately that was over 100 years ago. It’s sad but it’s time for someone new to love and own the Chicago bears. Give our beautiful Mrs. McCaskey a share, let her continue to watch every single bears game, give her her own parking spot, free bears merch, her kids free tickets and merch. But we have got to start winning. That “C” on the side of those helmets has to start meaning something TODAY.

    GG-MurderKing

I’m sorry bears fan the only thing we have to look forward to is Justin, Roquan, Monty, Mooney, Jaylon. I do like some of the young talent like graham deon bush as strong safety Herbert we got plenty of talent on this team that been getting wasted.

    GG-MurderKing

When this ownership sells we will be a really good team but until than talent will be wasted over n over n over it’s a damn shame because we deserve a consistent football team that wins year in and year out I’m not talking Super Bowl yes that is the ultimate goal but at this point I’ll take fucking playoffs appearances. Not even wins in the playoffs I’m sick of being a fan of a great city big market 3rd biggest market behind LA and New York be this shitty the bears should be just like the packers actually we should be better we play in the biggest city in the division the biggest market in the division we play in a beautiful city we should attract players that are great but we don’t becuz how the team is being run it’s simple why players don’t enjoy their time here unless they got paid.

    J T

@B.A. Samuels shes living till shes 220 if it means keeping the bears sucking.

    B.A. Samuels

@J T Raiders: Just Win Baby!
    Bears: Over Her Dead Body!
Why is she at the games? Because she runs the organization with an Iron Fist. She wants it passed down like a kingdom to baby McCaskeys still in their leathery eggs. That’s why they are so cheap, low end spending, MORE for them. That’s Ted’s job, keep the cash coming in, make no fast moves…its like driving by looking at the reaction of the other drivers, vs looking at the road.

    Michael Survilla

@Teabagonyou Why don’t we all set back and see what ownership does, instead of everyone bitching. Give them all a chance, there trying harder now, then they ever have. Patience Please, see what happens.

4spbiz

I almost feel like he was shaming us fans for not liking losing when such great men were at the helm. We’re supposed to just admire how awesome they are and not give a crap whether the team succeeds or not this guy is something else.

    Hooter 304

@Jay the chants was right thooo and it was a fact naggy had to goo George just can’t be a man when it comes down too it he’s the guy who hates to fire someone hints too why his butt buddy Ted is still there

    Jay

@Hooter 304 the chants are misdirected anger. We should be chanting: “Sell The Team George.”

    tflex4444

@Jay this right here! I’m tired of the “fire the current coach” idea. It’s been 75 years with like 19 playoff seasons. It’s obviously not the coaches

    LLee

That is what happens when Mama gives a job to her son who didn’t earn it and senile Mama writes his performance review yearly.

Ivo G

This is the song that doesn’t end it just goes on and on my friends.

    A.J. Leonardo

    Might as well sing it.

Ryan Timmons

I have been a fan all of my life. 34 years. I stopped watching the Bears on Thanksgiving. This press conference just solidified my choice. I will not watch this team until it is sold. Sell the team.

    Sid Fernandez

I stopped watching them last year. Been a fan since Sweetness. The very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and hoping for a different outcome. Well , George and Ted are still there. Smh

    Trey erickson

@Sid Fernandez retread fox is top 5 dumbest thing I’ve ever read. How do retread a human being and hof coach?

    Sid Fernandez

@Trey erickson Fox? a hall of fame coach??? bahahahahahahahaha

Nic T

“I’m just a fan, I’m not a football evaluator” but will ultimately make the decision on the coach and GM lol

    Michael Mortell

After listening and watching the George McCaskey/Ted Phillips press conference… I can without reservation say that the entire problem with the Chicago Bears is that their ran by third generation owners. There was a level of arrogance and aloofness when it came to questions regarding the hiring process. One would think that an individual would be self-aware…as to on one hand, call themselves a non-football guy and a fan. Then, in regard to the question of why they haven’t got the coaching/GM situation correct in the 34 years that Phillips has been there, and the 17 years that George McCaskey has been in charge of the Bears that they haven’t even gotten close to being a Championship team…. their answer was “ we feel that we’re highly qualified and experienced to make those judgments, along with our hand-picked football expert Bill Polian”. George McCaskey even referenced the book that Bill Polian had just written last year about being president of the Colts. One only has to reference that it was 10 years ago that Bill Polian was thrown out on his ear after allowing Peyton Manning to go to the Denver Broncos.
Mr. McCaskey also referenced that ownership has 100% confidence in him and didn’t see a need to remove him as the chairman of the board of the Chicago Bears. As you well know, the owner of the Chicago Bears is his mom.

Need I say more? God help us!!!!

    G Dedo

It is getting much harder to like this team

Miguel Rosario

As a Bears fan, the most exciting time is the off-season. It’s all we got. 😂. Hoping for a miracle, hoping they get it right. 🤞🏽🤞🏽

    Steve Rogers

Maybe next year isn’t just for the Cubs

    NFLClip2019

    Never will get it right

    Bryan Lentz

@Steve Rogers most fans in Chicago cheer for both teams so they actually DO say, ” WAIT ‘TIL NEXT YEAR!” 🤣🤣

gta1628

“I’m just a fan, not a football evaluator”
So true George 🤡

    polymyxa

I am a clown, and I don’t know football either.

    Inorite

Yet he said he will evaluate the football ability of the next GM. Yeah…….we’re gonna be right back here in a few years with George saying that he likes where these failing Bears are.

    dimitri6000

@Inorite Well, the future isn’t all that bad. The Bears ownership is at stake once Virginia passes. Her shares will disperse to her children and their children, removing the McCaskeys as majority owner unless they somehow all come together. I can see AON’s Ryan buying their shares and taking over the team.

    Just Some Guy

Based upon his ignorance in this interview, he’s not a fan- not even in the casual sense!

    Eric Kingsbury

The problems with the Chicago Bears is that ownership but her spoiled grandson in charge of a professional football team who has ZERO football experience at any level. An entitled little man who never so much as played high school football is running (ruining) this professional team.
If that was NOT enough, ownership of the Chicago Bears has elevated an accountant WITH NO FOOTBALL EXPERIENCE to the position of President and CEO who is in charge of ripping off the Illinois tax payer….Oh, little Teddy Phillips helped get 420 million from the Illinois tax payer for the remodeling of Soldier Field. McCaskey has already said Phillips will be busy scamming to get a new statium in Arlington Heights…..Oh, pony up 100 millions more tax payers.
Yet the clownish Bear fans are just Cub fans who keep putting up with it and say, “Gee guys, wait till next year”.

BanJovi

54:22 Wow! Calling Olin Kreutz a Lier? WTF? The look on his face you know he got caught 🔥🔥🔥🔥

    Think4ward

He needed some water after that 🔥🔥

    Rich Kid

Don’t forget what happened to Mugs Halas

    The New Holistic, Co.

@Rich Kid remind the kids, Rich…

Maverick1205

Mark asking the real question. Good on you man! You are 100 percent correct this clown needs answer for HIS record and HIS bottom-line

    Phil Vaca

Mom and his siblings say he can keep his job.

Craig Dybala

George McCaskey “We will find a GM and a head coach who will lead our bears to the success all bears fans deserve.” 7:25
Ted Phillips “I don’t regret hiring Matt Nagy & Ryan Pace. You can’t ask for better leaders.” 33:34

    Dominic Canis

Crew, “Captain, there’s a big hole in the hull of the ship and we’re sinking.”

Captain George, “Don’t call it a hole, you’ll make the boat feel bad.”

    Crew, “The waters rushing in.”

Captain George, “Isn’t the water refreshing?”

    Ryan W

Ted was saying, they are humble and generally good people, and it ultimately didn’t work out. They weren’t douchebags, they just weren’t good at their jobs.

    Bryan Lentz

    😆

    Rami Mirza

When I ask for clown show, this franchise comes to mind

    No Thx

    @Dominic Canis This should have 1k likes 👍 🤣

Stop Mayhem

This press conference cost George respect. He needlessly criticized fans and insulted an ex-player. he admitted he’s not a football guy, just a fan, yet the new GM will report to him. Only a family business can be run this way.

    Lucas S

    Spot on

Lemar Owens

This has to be the funniest end of season press conference I’ve ever witnessed.

    David Callahan

    Housewives of Halas Hall

    Rich Kid

    Shameful and inexcusable.

    diffuse

This will be in a UrinatingTree video for sure

    relld05

Told him to put it in his hall of fame speech!!!

    Matt Hill

    This is just sad,

Chris Rosenthal

Not even 5 minutes in and I am pretty sure I’ll be dead before the bears get to another super bowl

    Druski2Funny

Or just quit being a Bears fan and transition to a different and better fanbase or team. That’s what I did

    Trey erickson

@Druski2Funny thanks for sharing your “transition” with all of us. Hope you enjoy your new trans lifestyle. Fair weather fans are pathetic. Dont come crawling back pretending you’re a bears fan one day when they’re good.

    Chris Rosenthal

@Druski2Funny that is not a option. I’ve seen worse times than this as a bears fan

    Rolade Polade

Do what you want, but what is the fun in hand picking your favorite team because your old one struggled.

    Very well stated

    Jimi

Exactly! The Bears will suck as long as Virginia McCaskey is alive. She won’t allow them to sell her daddy’s team as long as she is living.

    Charlie Wax

    Dead on.

Charlie Wax

Gotta love when George was asked the hot seat question loosely translated, “Well what about your record George, will you step down? You said it was a bottom line business right?” And that sneaky guy slipped that punch like a pro fighter. 🤣
