We all know what defense wins right? 💍 Your were spot in with the way poor defense kills the teams spirit so true.

they need to invest in both lines. Period. Football is won and lost in the trenches. The Defense needs some new young talent.

I loved Coach Lynn during his time here and actually appreciated his Martyball approach to football before Herbert became the starter. That said, Coach Lynn said about Herbert “he’s a back-up for a reason”. Yeah…the reason is that you cant spot talent well enough to be one of the Top 32 football coaches in the world. Coach Lynn cancelling a much needed scrimmage in a shortened preseason with no games in favor of practicing Social Justice because (and again I quote) “some things are bigger than football”. Those 2 quotes showed me just as much as his poor time management and elementary mistakes on special teams, that he is better off elsewhere and so is the team.

Yea…the offense worked at times but in some games the offense was completely shut down. Imo not creative enough. Herbert was the reason the scheme worked not the scheme itself. Daboll or bust for me.

LA has no time for losers. With the move to LA, Spanos have no choice but to be championship contenders & we currently have an incredible foundation for it. Money talks & the Spanii know that they will lose money if people don’t show up to their games.

They were good enough on offense his ROOKIE season to win a superbowl if not for a spineless defensive approach that has continued for years.my guess is the first d.c. with ANY guts to play aggressive attacking defense instead of the “bent and broken” style we’ve played for years will win the chargers a Lombardi and will be given the genius title

Tillery Adderley Nwosu Lamp Feeney Pipkins are all high draft pick busts ..
Tra Turner Bologa Chris Harris were all wasted money on washed up goods
..not impressed with TT as a talent evaluator of big men or his Notre Dame Fetish …Too many first round picks that spend more time in the training room than on the field..TT is also 0 for 2 on HeadCoaching Hires

@Harry Henderson tillary has shown sparks and the only part of his game he needs work on is clean play. The penalties he caused has made differences in games. Nwosu just hasn’t got the playing time until this year. The rest I agree are busts

@Harry Henderson Nwosu is not a bust. You probably thought the same about Melvin Ingram after he had just six sacks in his first three years. Nwosu has ten sacks in three years while spending most of his time behind Ingram. Plenty of the other players you mentioned still have time to develop before you label them busts, and it’s unrealistic to believe every pick is going to get great results. Telesco got us Keenan Allen in the third round of the 2013 draft (Fluker and Te’o were bad picks), Melvin Gordon and Denzel Perryman in the 2015 draft, Joey Bosa and Hunter Henry in the 2016 draft, Mike Williams and Austin Ekeler (undrafted free agent) in 2017, Derwin James in 2018, and Justin Herbert and Kenneth Murray in 2020. Jason Verrett (2014) would have been great if he hadn’t gotten injured all the time (he’s playing very well in San Francisco now), and there are others who could emerge (Drue Tranquill comes to mind). Telesco’s draft record compares favorably to most general managers in the NFL. The talent on the field hasn’t been the problem. It’s been the coaching, which was an issue before Telesco arrived, probably because the Spanos family wanted to go cheap in that area. This would have been a playoff team more consistently since 2013 (when Telesco was hired) if we hired Andy Reid instead of Mike McCoy. The right head coach has to be brought in now.

@Harry Henderson i agree with most of what you said but i don’t think everyone you mentioned is a bust. Nwosu has played well and Feeny is becoming a decent Center. Adderley had a terrible year but i think we should give him another shot. He was essentially a rookie this year and got better as the year went on. Where i mostly agree with you is the OL. Telesco hasnt been able to put together a good OL since taking over. Turner will be cut. He saves 11 mil on cap with no dead money. I expect OL to get a major overhaul in the off season. Dont forget about the CBs. Hayward and Harris had terrible seasons ans Davis is a FA. OL/CB needs to be the focus.
