They always hand veterans the starting jobs at first. Remember last year when Bisi Johnson was starting over Jefferson the first two weeks of the season? Lol.
They do this every year. It’s to show that the rookies have to earn their way. Dozier won’t be starting by week 1. Remember Jefferson and Diggs didn’t end up playing until a few weeks into their careers

@Ben Blevins Thought it was obvious how bad Dakota Dozier was last year. Honestly I thought a bologna sandwich could block better than him. So yes, I expected Wyatt Davis to take his job immediately lol.
@Cody Heard We would think that as well, but that got disproven when the Vikings resigned Dozier. And if there is anyone to blame, it would be Rick Dennison the OL coach since he was the one that brought him to the Vikings in the first place. But with that in mind, Zimmer never starts rookies day one. I believe the only one that got it was Cook, but he had no competition at the time.
