Things had been going slow for Gore since coming out of the Week 9 bye as he was only seeing roily 14 carries per game. He had been hindered by an ankle issue, but the 49ers were also protecting him from being worn down before the playoffs. But last week, things seemed different as he carried the ball and rumbled towards 110 yards thanks to a late 51 yard run in the final quarter.
Gore will look to continue with that momentum against Tampa Bay this week. But it could be tough as the Bucs rank seventh against the run and allow just 103.7 rushing yards per game. They have also allowed just six touchdowns on the ground all year.
