After crushing it for five straight weeks before their Week 9 bye, Gore’s workload seems to have decreased steadily over his last three games. Prior to the bye week Gore averaged 21 carries and 95.2 yards per game and totaled six touchdowns. Since then, he’s averaged just 14 carries and 53.7 yards per game over his last three.
Gore has been run hard this season and the 49ers are going to want to keep him fresh for a potential run through the playoffs. He’ll still see plenty of carries, but if the 49ers are ahead in the game, don’t be surprised if Kendall Hunter or LaMichael James start to see more work.Gore is still a must-start against a Rams team that allows 111.4 rushing yards per game and has given up 12 touchdowns on the ground this year.
