A YouTube comment couldn’t sum up the appreciation I have for Matt. I turn 30 this year and Matt was drafted when I was a sophomore in high school. He’s been the most consistent thing in my entire adult life. Honestly, this whole thing feels dirty. Terry and Arthur have really stuck their fists in their mouths on this one. I had high hopes for the two of them last year and to say they have underachieved would be a massive understatement. Why pass on Fields last year if you were tossing Matt anyway? Why let the clock run so long you only get a third round pick? The same for Julios trade. If these guys were investors they’d be broke. They have a massive hole to climb out of and I sure hope they have a ladder and not a shovel
It’s not dirty they have to clean up the salary cap. I do agree Respect to Ryan but I’m excited to see a new direction. What we had in place wasn’t working
@MakeUFumble I don’t mean dirty as in disrespectful to Matt. I mean dirty as in a mess. You pass on a good class of QBs because you had “your guy” and now we don’t have one period. Washington gave 2 second round picks for Carson Wentz. Terry is so bad at timing in negotiations he only gets a 3rd for Matt and a second for Julio. And we’re eating 40 million in dead cap. This whole thing could’ve went down a lot smoother is my point.
Terry Fontenot had a option to get a third round pick from the Colts which is fine but he didn’t even get the best third round pick they have.. they have a third round pick from Washington SECURE the Bag… they traded Julio Jones for a second round pick and no players no prospects nothing.. Julio was coming off of year where he played eight games in a head almost 800 yards… These trades are complete trash

Thank you Matty Ice! The best Falcon there ever was and always will be! We didn’t deserve this Hall of Famer and it’s a damn shame we couldn’t win that Super Bowl but I wish him success in Indy! Treat him well Colts fans!

I know it’s time but man I hate this part of it. Dude is a true competitor, unselfish, never complained and never threw anyone under the bus. After Vick, I wasn’t willing to give Matt a fair chance but he quickly changed my mind and since 2008 he’s been my guy, our guy. We’ll miss you buddy. God bless you and your family and I’ll be cheering you on from a distance.

I don’t care how you felt about Matt Ryan. I’ll be the first to admit, I wasn’t always the biggest fan of his. But I never criticized this man for the faults of this organization. He was a leader, durable, and a heck of a football player for a team that badly needed stability. Unfortunately it was his time to move on, and the management of the situation doesn’t make it much better. But thank you to this guy for being professional and helping take this team to one of its most successful stretches of all time.

@Seth Harrell listen man, I’ll be the first to tell you that Matt Ryan is a dying breed of QB style and his ability was dwindling with this team. The talent was there, but when your team consistently lacks a credible defense (excluding the 2016-2017 season), it’s gonna be very tough to win ball games
@Trevor J exactly I love Matthew Stafford I’m a bulldog fan but no one gave him credit except real football fans until he went to LA and and got a ring. Matt is better than Stafford in my opinion and even though Atlanta isn’t quite as bad as Detroit it still isn’t a good franchise historical and people overlook matt because of that
@Seth Harrell Matthew Stafford very similar to Matt Ryan as you said man just played on a poor team. So his talents and efforts looked wasted because his team wasn’t going anywhere. As soon as you surround him with a high level defense and some great offensive skill sets, everything changes
Thank you for Matt, watching you play was the reason I got into football and was the beginning of a turning point in my life both physically and mentally and although I still go through some issues, past and current I’m glad I got to see you play and I hope you win a ring and get the respect you deserve. Thank you Matt. Been a fan of the Falcons since ‘66. You, Tommy Nobis and Jesse Tuggle are my three all time favorite Falcons. You’re a future HOF’er and we can all be glad you were our QB for as long as you were. Now go take the Colts to the Super Bowl!
