The Lions have some solid players! It will be very interesting to see who wins these position battles!

temere faciemus

I really like Malcom Rodrigues. I feel like he’s gonna pop off

    Derek Bidelman

I believe Malcolm could very good, I just don’t want people to expect to much out of him and if he doesn’t make this big splash people are expecting then people will be disappointed. He needs time to develop and he can be special.

    Gerard Tolsma

@Derek Bidelman he’s not going to be expected to do a lot being a lower round pick unlike Jarrad Davis when he was drafted in the 2nd rd. The being said I think Malcolm Rodriguez will be pretty good this season

    Derek Bidelman

@Gerard Tolsma I agree, I believe it just will take a little while for him to be ready.

    Andrew Yex

@Gerard Tolsma Jarrad was a first round pick so even higher expectations

I’m optimistic as always; but I’m 52 this year and I’m still waiting for Detroit and Cleveland to reach the Super Bowl. Patience is wearing thin…

Topics like this have always been my favorite articles of yours, i think it’d be cool for you to do 10 questions w/ twentyman in podcast form

Unsettled is a generous way to describe the LB group. Let’s be honest, how many of these guys would start on another team? I get it, lots of holes to fill and they weren’t going to all be filled in two drafts and two rounds of FA signings. The truth of the matter is, this group remains the team’s main Achilles heel.

But I do agree that the WR group has undergone enough of a makeover from where it was at this point last year that is now safe to say Goff is out of excuses. I still doubt his ability to throw deep but if he can be an Alex Smith type QB the offense should be much improved. Forget Boyle. Blough is a better option in my opinion if Goff goes down. If Boyle stinks it up in camp will they be willing to eat the money they owe him and cut him loose? It’s not a big chunk of change but it’s more than what they are paying Blough. Sometimes ya gotta just admit a mistake and move on and by the looks of it, signing Boyle was a mistake.

But I still think the running backs are going to play a big role in determining what this offense becomes. Swift shows flashes but he is a bit of a China doll. I like Netflix because he’s got heart and I think if they make this a genuine competition Reynolds can more than hold his own. The guy is hungry, and hunger goes a long way. He just seems to be more durable and may be a gem of a find if Campbell plays it straight and gives him an honest shot.

it can be 6am and that intro always gets me crazy pumped

Your show gets better each week, and you can definitely tell your getting more comfortable presenting in a podcast style! Another fantastic episode this week, and continue the great work. Hope you feel better!

Get well soon Twentyman! Thank you Twentyman for the Twentyman in the Huddle podcast. Great stuff! I appreciate your episodes, interviews and coverages. I am looking forward to the Detroit Lions training camp and preseason games. It’s going to be great to see the position battles.

Best in the business. Thanks TT. !

We have a complete LB group. We’ll probably keep 6, with some playing mostly special teams, yet still put out multiple LB packages/looks as the season goes on.

Gerard Tolsma

TT Tim Boyle wasn’t good at all in training camp David Blough performed much better in training camp and preseason games over Boyle and even better than Goff. Blough should be the backup QB and Boyle should be cut early in training camp and bring someone else in

The LBs are going to make or break this Defense this season. I think pass rush will definitely be improved and help the coverage but teams are going to test our LBs early and often.

James Boggiano

I hope the Lions improves a lot this year. Haven’t been this pumped about a season since Megaton retired. That said, if it’s a bad year and Goff plays bad, I hope it’s a top 2 pick for a QB.

Andrew Yex

With linebackers you skipped over Malcom Rodriguez I think he could be a starter by end of the year
