this is a true Kellen Mond moment

    Kellen Mond

    Yeah it is

Derek Alan

Pete finally says what many draftnuts wouldn’t. At A&M, Mond did not have good WR help, unlike Lawrence, Jones, Fields, etc. Hope the best for this kid from San Antonio.

@Kristina Arutyunyan Well, Zach Wilson didn’t play any team close to an Alabama or a Clemson. Not to discredit Zach because he’s great.

    DANIELS LAWRENCE

imagine if he had the Alabama receivers?…..
    see what I mean?……he has the basics!😆😆

    KANSAS FOOTBALL FANATIC

@DANIELS LAWRENCE The last time he saw one of his recievers drafted was when he was a freshman (Christian Kirk). All these others guys have been playing with the top recievers of the draft. A&M lost their top 4 recievers by the 3rd game of the 2020 season. He lost 2 to ACL injuries, 1 in fall camp and the other in the 3rd game of the season. That reciever tore his ACL on a TD catch after having a breakout game. His best reciever opted out the week before game 1. Another reciever who was recovering from an ACL injury came back the 5th game. And with all of that, his top reciever that opted out only had like a 5th to undrafted grade.

    Thomas Hicks

@Kristina Arutyunyan Dax Milne was ok.

    Jeffrey Sams

The TE is a stud… But yeah, he played in a tough conference with crappy WRs so obviously that did not help his stats..

David Vukelich

Yes he is Pete!

Jmun020

Idk about him yet. Can’t wait to see him play in preseason, no judgements can be made about how he’ll transition. Didn’t see a single game from him in real-time, haven’t seen how he responds in pressure situations, the real things. If he made it this far, he’s talented enough. What’s between his ears like when shits going down? That’s what I wanna see.

i’ve watched every throw and run of him and he has a lot of potential and is solid in the things you can’t teach but needs work on some of the things you can change

    Jeffrey Sams

@Dboss88dt He definitely needs some work (though I was impressed he is already working on improving his footwork for playing under center). That said, it is not like we need him to step in this year (unless Kirk gets hurt)….Actually a great situation as he is under no pressure this year to perform and my guess is our OL is decent this year but will improve as our OL rookies get experience.

    Dboss88dt

@Jeffrey Sams yeah i agree, he was the one person this year i wanted the vikings to get and he defenitly has one of the strongest arms in this class and a quick release and handles pressure well and brings that mobility which the vikings haven’t had in a while, but i def it will be beneficial to sit for a year or two to learn but i think he has the skills and the weapons on this team to be great when it is his time to take the lead of the team

Evan Downs

NF style plays for sure

Steven

Seems pretty accurate. Seems to make quick decisions, but looks like he stares down receivers.

austin white

Can’t wait. #FondofMond

Couple thoughts:

He ran a pro-style offense which is actually a big thing because basic adjustments won’t be a completely foreign concept to him. Unfortunately it looks like he mainly operated out of the shotgun. That means he’ll probably need major work on his drops and reads from under center. And he will also need to learn a new offense, and it’s calls and adjustments.

His footwork is a little better than I thought it would be, but it looks like his upper body needs work. He moves like a glorified high school quarterback, and though he’s not bad working off safeties and squaring up, his throwing mechanics are not great. He takes to much time and doesn’t get as much as he can on his throws. This is actually pretty fixable though.

Whether he learns to wait that extra second for the play to develop will probably determine whether he’s successful or not, but it’ll take a good two years to get him ready to try. Good backup though.

    I will prove everyone wrong

Work ethic can go a long way, brady was a 6th rounder. But he worked hard, if he truly cares about winning he will put it the effort. I see potential in him

Kellen Mond

NINK coming to SKOL

Plumbo Dipkis

“An NF style route..”
-😑

    Aden

What does he mean by that

    Bugatti James

@Aden He meant NFL style route.

maverick lewis

NF route . . . Wake up sir.

Madison Hagen

Love Pete. Great analyst real warrior

Steve Annonson

Peter, you are an elite football mind 👏

ddellwo

He would have looked good in Maroon and Gold……!!!

T Diggz

we can only hope 2-3 years from now he is a franchise qb.. only taken us 30+ years to find another qb..

Matthew Dorso

I think he’ll be like a Dak

Thomas Hicks

Take a shot every time Pete says “NFL style route”.

Ben H

You know Mond is German for Moon… didnt we have a good qb with this name?

    Google Fk you

He is moon all over again

Tony Ford

Let’s GO !

Brett

Will be interesting to see how a year puts him for starting consideration. Maybe two? His ability to extend a play reminds me some of Aaron Rogers, which would be something we dont have.
