Fantasy Football Week 10: Top Plays at Every Position

Injuries continue to create chaos at this position, but they also continue to create opportunities. Ben Tate moves up the list to be viable for fantasy owners amid Arian Foster‘s (back) expected absence, while Rashad Jennings is coming off 100-plus yards and a touchdown, spelling oft-injured Darren McFadden (hamstring).

Johnson’s no-more-tears run

Chris Johnson’s buzzsaw first-half schedule has lightened up nicely. He is coming off 150 yards and two touchdowns and gets to face the lowly Jaguars in Week 10. The Jags are the worst team in fantasy against running backs and are dead last in the NFL against the run, per FF Today and ESPN, respectively. Even if Shonn Greene is vulturing the short-yardage carries and getting a bigger piece of the pie, CJ2K is too promising to sit in any league.

Law firm should rest its case this week

Not only has Giovani Bernard looked like a budding star with his highlight-reel runs, BenJarvus Green-Ellis hasn’t reached the end zone since Week 5. BGE is emerging as a difficult fantasy play against anyone now, and the Ravens have proved to be the toughest matchup in fantasy for a running back to date. You have to keep the rolling Bernard active, but not BGE right now.

This stands to be a make-or-break week for Trent Richardson. The first-round fantasy bust hasn’t reached the end zone or 60 combined yards since Week 4 of the season. We will give him a pass, though, because the Colts have faced the Seahawks, Chargers, Broncos and Texans. All those defenses are built to stop the run. This week, T-Rich draws the Rams, who are fifth-worst against the run and third-worst against fantasy running backs.

Richardson, who is expected to play amid his ankle woes, according to the Indianapolis Star‘s Stephen Holder, is among the backs we like more than the masses:

  1. Trent Richardson
  2. Ray Rice
  3. Ben Tate
  4. Andre Ellington
  5. James Starks

Like him less

Another banged-up back—albeit a much hotter one, Zac Stacy (foot/ankle)—returned to practice Thursday, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Unlike T-Rich, though, Stacy’s matchup is less favorable.

You won’t sit Stacy against the Colts, a top-five team against fantasy running backs, but he is among the backs we like more than a handful of spots less than the consensus this week:

  1. Reggie Bush
  2. Zac Stacy
  3. Maurice Jones-Drew
  4. Fred Jackson
  5. Danny Woodhead
