Fantasy Football Options to Pick up the Slack for Key Injuries

Dec 11, 2013

There were a few significant injuries this past weekend that delivered a brutal blow to fantasy football owners out there. Naturally there will be players to step up and fill their roles.

If you invest wisely just like you would at SportsBettingOnline.ag you will find success. Let’s face it whether you’re talking fantasy or wagering, earning some extra cash is paramount, especially this time of year. Here are some players to consider to either replace your injured star or fill a void on your roster.
.
Toby Gerhart, Minnesota Vikings: It would be foolish for the Minnesota Vikings to rush Adrian Peterson into action, even if he doesn’t have significant damage to his foot. When you’re 3-9-1 like the Vikings are, what is the logic in relying on pain tolerance for the best running back in the league. Toby Gerhart, assuming his hamstring checks out, should carry the load against the Philadelphia Eagles. He ran for 89 yards and a touchdown last week against the Baltimore Ravens. It was only the third rushing score allowed by the Ravens this year. Toby has had nine games in his career with double-digit carries. He’s averaging 77.4 yards and 0.3 touchdowns in those games. The Eagles are yielding 112.8 rushing yards per game. Gerhart could be a solid RB2 this week.
.
Jacob Tamme, Denver Broncos: Jacob Tamme is a tight end by trade, but when Wes Welker suffered his second concussion in four weeks it was Tamme that stepped into Welker’s role as slot receiver. He managed to catch four passes for 47 yards. Those aren’t terrific numbers, but the potential is there considering Peyton Manning is slinging the ball. Tamme will have to compete with Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Julius Thomas, Knowshon Moreno and Montee Ball for touches, but with 465.6 yards and 39.6 points per game, there is plenty to go around.
.
Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman and Shane Vereen, New England Patriots: It’s going to take a group effort to compensate for the loss of Rob Gronkowski. All three of these Patriots should see additional looks in the passing game. It’s going to take this three-headed monster to replace Gronkenstein. Given their ability, as well as Tom Brady’s, they all stand to shine.
