Doug Martin wants to play in Week 10, however, Greg Schiano said Wednesday that the Bucs won’t allow Martin to return unless doctors confirm that he can do no further damage to his shoulder.
Read between the lines: The 0-8 Buccaneers will probably shut down Martin for the rest of the season. It’s not like they are fighting for the playoffs.
Who knows, one of the reasons Martin can be so anxious to come back is the emergence of his replacement Mike James.
James, a sixth-round pick out of Miami, torched Seattle’s potent defense last week for 158 yards. He’s making the decision to keep Martin resting much easier.
Is it too early to anoint James as a fantasy stud?
Check out the video above as Randall Cobb and Josh Zerkle answer that question about James and let you know if other guys are for real or not.
