Explaining Justin Tucker’s Drop-Kickoff | Ravens Final Drive – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
King Berserk

It was a bad play we should have onside kick it and he messed up the first time if any of those players came charging for it that would have been a touchdown

    Sup

King Berserk When have we ever even come close to getting an onside

    Lion Thomas

    Crickets

    King Berserk

Sup we would have been more closer at getting the ball

Sup

I liked it I think it’s a good idea

    Lion Thomas

Me too…….I’d like to see it work tho

    Lu Kim

He kicked it to far but it was high enough just to far

    shawnkeith2414

Hell yeah it was a good idea

Cartman Power

Chiefs will not win the AFC West this year because they got worse. They originally lost Tyreek Hill due to a suspension, they lifted that and he got injured. They have a horrendous defense despite a great offense. Chargers, who have a great defense, will win the AFC West.

    Rexy 1776

Cartman Power Chargers have gotten worse too they lost to the Lions lmao. The lions aren’t even that good all the wins they have were narrow one score victories against bad teams and they managed to somehow tie the Cards a trash team.

    Cartman Power

Lions are garbage, they beat both the Chargers and Eagles. The Packers can definitely beat the Eagles tonight. If the Lions and Texans can beat the Chargers, so can the Packers.

It makes no sense if they just call a fair catch. Another instance where the Ravens tried to be too cute and it costed us

    king shark

    Exactly.

    John Myers

It did on this one because the ravens had 1 time out left and there was just over 2 minutes on the clock. 2 minute warning gave us 2 clock stoppages.

    king shark

@John Myers … granted, any way we played, was going to be a bet on a defensive stop.

But, I’d rather bet on putting them at the 25yd line or less, just for psychological and field position reasons.

Then take my gamble on stop, punt “good return” great field position or fair catch was going to be at the 45 to 50yd line.

That move john pulled put them at their own 40yd and better, giving them a confidence boost in play calls. Plus a stop pins us inside our own 20 with a fair catch.

Wasn’t the best move, like most of the day under the headset.

    streetracer1086

it does because even if they call a fair catch if you can kick it high enough and your team can get there in time you can as the kicking team can catch the ball before the returner . it is a live ball as soon as its kicked and goes 10 yards witch means if you can jump and catch you have a shot at getting the ball

king shark

Shark – coach kick it and pin them deep.

Coach – naaah, I’m on a roll today.

Shark – but coach we can pin and hold them and get good field position.

Coach – naaaaah, I been gambling all day, I’m the coach I got this.

Shark – 🙈

Also point to mention, the NFL changed the rules to onside kicks which makes it harder to succeed. The reason for the change is to prevent injuries. All in all, I like this new kick feature. Keep practicing and someday, we’ll get the ball back.

Rexy 1776

It was a smart play if it had worked the first time then it would have worked probably because they’d have been thrown off completely but missing it the first time eliminating the element of surprise.

Chris Hamre

I didn’t like the call to kick it that way. Alot could of went wrong. If Tucker doesn’t get the right bounce he could have shanked it. Anyway yeah they should of tried to pin them deep or just do the onside kick

    BIRDMAN 813

YOU’RE MISSING THE POINT , IT WAS 2:01 LEFT AND WE HAD 1 TIMEOUT LEFT … THE POINT WAS FOR US TO TRY AND POSSIBLY GET A CHANCE TO RUN DOWN AND MAYBE RECOVER AND IF NOT THEY WOULD BE FORCED TO FAIR CATCH IT AND NO TIME WILL RUN OFF SO WE CAN HAVE THE 2 MINUTE WARNING TIMEOUT

NaturallyDone

I don’t get it. If the Ravens were to get downfield and catch the kick, it’s Ravens ball?

    Jaylen Tatum

Correct. Kicking the ball high up in the air is smart because it can give your players time to go and catch that ball.

    The Puppet Masters

@Jaylen Tatum Yes but all a player from the other team has to do is wave the fair catch signal and then the kicking team is not allowed to catch it or interfere with them trying to catch it which makes it useless! It can only work if u can catch them off guard and they don’t think to call for a fair catch which will never happen now that the whole league has seen it and will coach their guys how to handle it.

    Jaylen Tatum

The Puppet Masters Right, if they call a fair catch then you’re pretty much screwed. But who knows, this might be a better chance of getting the ball back instead of just a normal onside kick

The Puppet Masters

Sorry, but it’s USELESS as long as the other team has the whereabouts to wave for a fair catch, which they always will, now that the League has seen it and will coach their guys to call for it!
