Covered the China route, tracked Geno’s eyes, felt the 7 route behind him and picked it off. His zone was probably more shallow then the depth of the 7, and he managed to make a great play on the ball
(Hell he coulda been manned up as the CB1 since he shadowed Metcalf 90% of the game and the LB’s were in Zone and no one tracked the 7)
@soban nazir The DC said the play was made with instinct because it was …….doesn’t change the fact that that was his zone You can tell by all the players around him that was either cover 3 or quarters coverage either way that was his zone… No one was in man coverage And you could clearly see his 2 teammates in front of him which were their curl flat and the hook zone defenders in the cover 3 Generally the cb is gonna be responsible for that deep 3rd in that defense….. The reason why I think it was such a great play was because he baited the quarterback into the throw By making it seem like he was jumping a shorter route…
