@YUNGPLUG 223 But, many Broncos fans and Broncos media use the injury excuse. Reality is in the NFL, every team has starters out for injury 95% of the time.

@YUNGPLUG 223 Yep. Lots of starters. Just the way it is. It’s also one of the reasons I’m not so quick to condemn Lock. His two favorite targets are gone (Sutton and Albert O). I’d include Juwan James, but that guy has no heart and it’s probably better he’s not out there.

@John Tomasik Fant was sent out this game as well, Lock loves throwing to TEs that’s why Fumigalli had like two TD’s. We got to look at the two seasons Lock has played which is an overstatement cause he didn’t get the chance to play the entire season last year or this one as well. Has no Veteran QB to mentor him, not to mention Lock is arguably in the toughest divisions in the league as a rookie. No excuses I’m just saying fans have to be patient with Lock. If our running game is consistent then our passing game will too cause it would take pressure off of Lock. If anything Lock has to get better at reading the defense which is normal for a rookie QB, not to mention our whole offense are pretty much rookies that’s why the Broncos D had to close this one out.

Part of the reason his performance wasn’t good. Even with their supposed improved o-line (I’m not sold), he was running for his life half of the time.

@Natthaphon Noble Uh, Lock isn’t Mahomes. Mahomes is a more talented QB, and, most importantly, has a much, much better offensive play caller than Lock has. That doesn’t make Lock worthless. He might be a good QB that simply needs a better coaching staff, offensive coordinator, and a bit more time to compensate for the quality around him..

i think his ceiling is insanely high especially next year with a full offseason and sutton back. keep in mind he is doing this without his best weapon. all of his bad decisions previously have stemmed from him not even having a full season under his belt and also partly the o line not holding up for a lot of the season

@Myst1c L3g3nd yep that’s what happens when you take the shorter routes and don’t force it, notice every time he threw deep it was the right decision and the receiver was wide open? Before today he had 0 touchdowns and 4 picks on deep balls. Hopefully this is the turning point for him!

also its what happens when he has a good gameplan and his coordinator is calling the right plays

There’s 3 reasons why he was able to make good throws is because, 1 Carolina’s defense is pretty much a rookie defense just like our rookie offense so that kinda cancels each other out. 2nd the running and passing game was pretty much at a 50/50 balance making it harder on the Carolina defense to predict the play. 3rd Drew Lock does show that he is improving and playing smarter and maybe this game was the spark he needed.

Us Bronco fans need to be patient with him, he’s had a rough two seasons without entirely playing either one and I already see fans asking for another QB. The problem is we don’t have a veteran QB to mentor the rookie so Drew Lock is really learning on the fly here, which is why patience is needed no matter what rookie QB we get, so we have to stick with one and I think Drew Lock is our guy.
