Need major adjustments on the Defensive side. Possibly new D Coordinator, run a different type of D, trade Josh Allen…

Allen and Walker are two physically gifted non-producers. They absolutely suck.

The problem is Caldwell and our defensive scheme. Allen had his great rookie season on a 4-3 defense, now Caldwell is using a 3-4. Also terrible draft picks in 2021, we got no one useful besides Luke Fourtner at the moment.
We’ve always been known for 4-3 defense!! We need both Lloyd and Muma on the field!! This 3-4 defense we been running the last couple of years has not been clicking and we haven’t been getting any pressure to the QB!! In Josh Allen rookie year when he had 10.5 sacks we ran a 4-3 defense!! We need to get back to that!! We just need to take this loss to the chin and get ready for Tennessee!!
He’s just in over his head at the DC position. He’s a helluva LB coach, we need a seasoned DC to ever compete in this league

Exactly what I’ve been thinking. It’s not a good sign when the safeties are the ones having to step up and save our defense almost every time.
This is such a disappointment man I was bought in on our defense at the beginning of the year and they have not performed at all 🤦🏼♂️
This game was poor across the board BUT to get 40 points put up on you? That stands out. Ben Johnson absolutely took Mike Caldwell and his unit to school to today. Masterclass from Johnson. Caldwell did not have any adjustments nor answers. Corners 10 yards off all wideouts, linebackers losing track of assignments, defensive line cannot get two hands on a quarterback to save their lives. This defense bent and broke, many times over. At some point Doug will hold him accountable. The scheme does not fit the personnel. You need to work with what you got, not what you hoped for, and as many have said here… it is time to play more 4-3.
There is adequate talent on the team to be a better team but we need some better players. With that said I feel out defensive coord needs to have much better results or move on. There seems to be a lack of leadership and discipline. The D has some good talent; at least enough talent to have a better record. Something is very wrong with this defensive! I can’t believe how open the Lion’s WR were. Those screens were killing us!!!! The Defensive VERY ILL PREPARED!
Caldwell is a terrible coordinator he doesn’t watch enough film and he doesn’t prepare team good they will never go anywhere with him so many games are 2 or 3 plays that decide the game do you trust him to watch as much film as possible and have the best possible play calls and scheme ? I’d much rather trust a real coordinator that has much better play calls and Scheme who knows how many more stops they would have if they had a real coordinator

Clean house defensively. Period , players coming up on a pay day & coaches. Get some real guys in here that know how to win football games on that side of the football !

Defense started out so well in the first 4 games. Then they just disappeared. There’s some guys I like and some guys *cough* Griffin *cough* that just need to go.
Defense sucked week 1 and sucked week 4
Need a new defensive coordinator, I still wish we had Joe Cullen as our defensive coordinator I felt like last year games was lost due to our offense suck and defense was on the field too long now this year feel like our offense is good and our defense suck. I been a Jaguars fan for 16 years and this probably the worst defense we ever had and it’s not even close.

Defense has regressed all year and has to be addressed. Everybody not named Trevor or Kirk blew it today.
As a lions fan I like Doug as a HC hope he works out guys seem to fight for him. This game just got out of hand and the run was eliminated by the point deficit so your in passing situations virtually the whole game. If Defenses can just pin their ears back on you its tough for a seasoned vet let alone a 2nd yr QB…The drops on 3rd down showed me they just quit! You never quit on your guys! EVER! Even if you can’t win you at least fight for 4 quarters. All in all you guys will be fine we got skunked by Pat’s this year 29-0 sooo everyone feels this feeling once in a while
Defense can’t seem to get it together not just this game all year it. WR drops this game wasn’t helping either this team has a whole lot of learning still.
I’ll bet PaPa Doug is getting sick of these media meets after losses…
