@Coreyyo9 They got the fans feedback and used it as one tool among many to decide what was best for the future. Just like with the Seattle Krakens, you can’t always just take a vote and go with the top result; big business and trademark law is more complicated than that.

As a fan for over 40 years, this is a disgrace.
Just look at the logo with the years on the outer ring for example. They have 1983, 1988, 1992 as the super bowl years. That is the year we won the Super Bowl but the NFL season we won it in is 82, 87 and 91. It was the 1982 team that won NOT the team in 1983. They totally messed up and have obviously put NO meaningful thought into much of anything really.
They fixed that.
Can’t be talking about principles when your owner is always in scandals … hope the team prevail though

@Redfin Studios the team name was redskins for over 80 years that name and logo forged alot of memories with countless people. Alot of them won’t accept the new name change.

Should’ve played this video during the Today show reveal, would’ve gotten more people hyped about the name.
I’m a long time Skins fan that was extremely resistant to this change. But I like this new direction with staying true to the colors and the new brand. We will all get through this together. Now it’s all about getting a franchise QB and winning…Hopefully with a new owner.
With a name like the commanders, I feel like they should’ve went with green, brown and white… It would’ve been so cool if they played off our military colors with that name and by the team being in the nation’s capital and all, would’ve gotten so much support… but anyway, best of luck to yall up there in the dmv #TitanUp
I’m in – still. I can accept the reason for the name change, and why there was no option otherwise. I can accept our new name, even if it wasn’t my first choice. I can accept the W, and hope it represents more w’s for every game we play. I can accept a new black uniform, even though it is not our team colors, because I can accept tomorrow is different from yesterday. I can accept that the road ahead will still have a fight song, just not the same one we had before. I can accept we’ll have a different mascot, and that won’t take anything away from the generations of fans who had nothing but admiration and respect for America’s proud, honorable, and fierce Native Americans. Where I’m stuck is with that white uniform, because it must have more gold, and it must be burgundy and not red. Where I’m stuck is the W on the front of the black helmet; it simply must go. Where I’m stuck is reflecting on our culture, and how our once proud team has remained in the headlines, but for all the wrong reasons. To the Washington Commanders: how serious are you about change? If you are serious, truly serious, then you’ll listen to the fans and make small and reasonable pivots as we move forward down our new path. If you’re serious, truly serious, then the one and only constant for the source of pain for the last 20 years must once and for all 100% change as well.

Then you give your excuses. Finally you try to reason with us why we should remain fans. We all know the beginning.. middle.. and end to this story. I’m already used to commanders – I just wish the gear, presentation and marketing was up to par. Will be patient. Asking the Commanders brass to knock this one out the park. Make DC proud again!
