Tell me why a white real estate agent in Newport Beach, CAlifornia, named Travis White, pulled a gun on a Black male on Balboa Island and guess what….the white guy was not shot in the back. Explain that? if he was Black it would have been a different story. I wish I could say otherwise, but you can talk talk talk…we see the walk walk walk. it is not good.

I appreciate Devin’s honesty here. I too wonder what the “day off” other leagues are doing does. I guess it brings awareness but that can be done in many ways. I’m all about action, but I think it’s important to take action that creates change.

Honesty? A career criminal that has a violent gun history, then resisted, fought and went for a weapon. Anyone that does that would get shot. And did he just say no one in America likes black and brown people? Dev…I like and respect you…be a leader. Tell young rookies and everyone to change that behavior…and how about addressing the thousands of shootings in Chicago. Americans are not racist…we are all equal. There are 14 cop shootings in the last two years.14 too many yes. None of this helps because it ignores reality…the truth is it was easily avoided and we have zero idea that race had anything to do with it. We have riots hurting thousands..before the facts are in. Politics is figuring largely here…I cannot believe these questions.They re the wrong ones. I support all Americans, equally. I pray for racial harmony. We won’t achieve by ignoring criminal behavior that leads to violence.
@Jennifer I What does that have to do with it? Ive spent my life talking to groups about racial harmony. We need honest interactions. Demonizing any one race only makes for hostility. We need forgiveness and acceptance on all sides. All I see now is blame..14 shootings in two years is 14 too many, but not a widespread problem. It’s just politics pushing division. I heard talking points in this video…sorry.

Love Devin’s heartfelt comments. As a minority, I understand the hopelessness he talks about. I doubt people would think it’s ok if Blake were white. His kids were in the vehicle, I doubt he was going to grab a knife to go fight armed police officers. 7 shots in the back are not justified. How do you “know” these things? Nobody is saying he actually threatened the police with a knife. You are obviously driven to reach a specific outcome, so congratulations on doing the exact opposite of what a court does.

Jacob Blake was shot because of HIS OWN ACTIONS. If i fought police and went to get a knife out of my car after being told MULTIPLE TIMES to stop i would EXPECT to get shot. This has NOTHING to do with race and EVERYTHING to do with an individual’s actions. If jacob blake had not reached into his car for a knife then he wouldn’t be paralyzed from the waist down. People need to start looking at the orginal action instead of the reaction. Stop being sheep.

I’ve been too – angry, sad, not knowing what to do to help, to stop this. The shooting that continues over and over and over..in the back, in bed, while jogging on the street. WE the people should ALL go on strike. Every shot in the back of a Black man is a shot through the heart of this country. Will we stand up? united? all colors? Lets do it.
