The defense gave up 41 not 48, 7 points was a pick 6. Regardless Seattle was averaging 16 points per game. Either you fire the D Line coach or Aaron Glenn. I’m done with second chances this is the NFL no apologies. Winning is all that matters

Man you sound like a clown stafford threw pick 6 for like 4-5 games straight last year 😂Arron Rodgers threw a pick 6 the point is the defense didn’t make them punt the whole game

    Aaron Robinson

    You don’t fire neither one

    Matt Tunnell

I’m sick of losing lions. Trade in the grit for some skill. Enough of this crap.

Jeffrey Helguero

If Campbell trusts Glenn then he is a fool and I seriously question his judgement of people, either Glenn had a say in who was drafted and signed off on these players which negates the talent argument or if he didn’t and he really is a great DC then he should have spoken up to the quality of players to fit his scheme, which is highly improbable because most assistant coaches wouldn’t tolerate that, then basically it goes to schemes and coaching that this man is doing, either way the fault resides on Glenn and possibly Campbell for keeping him on despite his apparent incompetence

The blitz calls were terrible. I think it’s a combination of young talent and not enough solid defenders along with bad play calling.

Chris Mason

Ohh, Lions defense, I apologize, I forgot you were still there…you may go now.

Tough game ? This was a embarrassment. Heads should roll . We were out coached ,out coached ,out coached .

You guys are being so kind . Show some emotion , you look like the faces on the sideline . I wanna see fire and brimstone . Play angry guys .

    benjamin niclin

    Being emotional isn’t a solution

Acting crazy doesn’t help …fundamentals is the only thing that works…..that New England coach drives fundamentals…few penalties…no offsides….

garytaf

there are players who avoid making hard tackles, they fake it

My weekend has literally been defined by “Garbage defense”

John VanderMolen

What do yoy expect when you’re up against the great Geno Smith?

James R

Great recap. Such a heartbreaker of a game. Just too many offensive injuries. Defense just didn’t show up. I kept hoping for a late INT to turn the tide. Kicker killed us too. Looking forward to 2023 draft, you have to believe they’re loading up on defense. DE, LB, DB.

I put together a video of all of Hutch’s pass rushes if anybodys interested

This is what happens with a Good offensive coordinator. They score with back ups. But because aaron glenn over his head cant do the same. It’s so obvious

Mohamed Saad

No business giving a team that averages 15 points that many points. Period

Two things the offense has that the defense doesn’t: better overall talent and solid, quality depth behind the starters. They certainly invested in the defense in this years draft and it’s obvious they need to do even more on that side of the ball next year. I’d use every pick on defense if it were up to me.

The Lions offense is Scary Good…and the Lions defense can’t fight itself out of a wet paper bag! Very frustrating as a fan.

poisonink

detroit is still 1 or 2 years away from being a really good team, almost every analysis shows that. give them time. they’re not going from 0-100 in 1 year

Erik Jennings

I don’t want to risk waiting until next season to fix the defense. We could stack our defense but there’s no guarantee the offense will have this success next year. We need an immediate change on defense. If we somewhat turn around our defense than we are a scary team

Kenny Sarkadi

AG on the hot seat. If this historically bad defense continues to be this bad, he won’t see the end of the season. We added talent and went backwards from last year.

Cory Garcia

When 2 Rookies and a CB who hasn’t completed a season lead your Def you got issues.

Name your top 3 all time greats at those same positions put them on this defense using their rookie seasons – what ya got?

Just glad I’m not AG right now… He got knocked the F out – I’ve never seen anything like it before… Knocked the F out…

It was literally like Sheriff AG in his Cowboy hat just stepped in front of an 18 wheeler all by himself (thinking his players were all behind him) and said stop in the name of da Lions

If there was any players standing behind him – where are they at?

that driver had a full tank of gas and nothing better to do – forward – reverse – forward – reverse – all game long

I think the equipment guys knew what they were doing substituting baby powder in that team meeting we saw on Hard Knocks.

Anyone see Coach AG after the game – aka the baby sitter – it’s like he’s been relegated to baby sitting the kids till they grow up – there is no veteran leadership from the defensive players on this team being provided during the game – zero – which just so happens to be the number of punts their opponent this past weekend attempted.

Till these kids grow up or they bring them more help this is what we got y’all – veterans that simply can’t lead and a few other vets that simply aren’t good enough to beat the guys lined up across from them.

This week was all about Pete Carroll and his knowledge of Aaron Glenn. Pete Carroll has known Aaron Glenn for a long time, and knows him extremely well. Exploited the young coach last year to the tune of 51 points, and did an unbelievable encore this season with 48. Pete and his staff know exactly what the Lions defense is going to do in every crucial situation. Period. Deep dive is right.
