Sad for the loss, but I think overall a pretty dam good game. Eagles are a good team, Goff threw some straight donuts but overall, a good effort.

@Ken Lang exactly. Several Lions had wide open dropped passes thar Could have gone the distance or at least been long gains
@Timothy Drummond that’s why the offense struggled after the first drive. Goff had five passes over 20 yards. I thought a number of plays on both sides were poor calls and not adjusting to contain hurts was a big problem
@Ken Lang yeah we did Amazing Getting to the qb. But without that good middle he could just scamper and have 10 or 15 yards of freedom. Later on they got a little better at coming off the guy downfield to get to him before a first down but ugh. That’s definitely a Huge weakness at the moment. Definitely looking forward to the less mobile qbs we face. (I feel Rodgers no longer fits the mobile qb category anymore and I can’t wait)
@Timothy Drummond 💯 the defense looks legit, they’ll get it dialed in better and do a better job of contain, but yea the nascar package is really good. They played good and carried last year over and will have a much better year. Still thinking 7 or 8 wins, unless when Williams comes in and makes the offense explode, but I think that’ll be next year

@DerGoMobby’s ALL 32 actually the fact they lost seven games by one score is a great indication he can coach. Alliance had the second best record in the NFL last year against the spread meaning they went above expectations each Sunday more than every team but one. They weren’t even supposed to be that close in most games yet they were. Did it again yesterday as well covering the point spread
@Student Of The Options Game exactly right that was the entire difference to the game. They had around a 70% third down conversion rate and I think they were two for three on Fourth Downs. Teams that do that when almost every game. That would have easily led the league last year

That comment is lazy way of saying you only look at the box score and can’t see the big picture of the culture change and bringing more talent that was devoided from the previous regime. Problem with Patricia is he thought he was the smartest man in the room and had a God complex when it came to everything football and he was so resistant to accept critical feedback that he traded players who didn’t comply to his rules. He completely lost the locker room after 6 games into his first season.
Bro. The lions just feel different. I know we say this every year… But they were dogs out there. Philly is SUPER physical and we were physical right back. Those penalties hurt us in big ways. Two of them gave up more than 20 yards. Damn near started them in the redzone. And philly doesn’t need help getting to the redzone lol

To everyone who is encouraged by the Lions performance and calling Goff the reason for the loss:
Both Campbell and Holmes LOVE him. Holmes was a part of the Rams administration who traded up to draft him 1st overall. If you think that his performance last year, and potentially a bad year this year will be enough for them to move on from Goff, then you are sadly mistaken.

Detroit Lions offense aren’t quite where it needed to be today. Yes, Detroit Lions offense led by Jared Goff scored against the Eagles defense in Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4, but Lions missed opportunities to score more points today. Detroit Lions running backs room D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams did their thing today. I love it.
Jeff Okudah and Amani Oruwariye played great today.
Eagles were the better football team today.
Detroit Lions offense are not yet where they know they can be.

Last season, Eagles 🦅 defense shut out the Lions 🦁 offense in Q1, Q2 and Q3. Eagles offense scored against our Lions defense in Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4.

Lions are further than they were last season. Lions are noticeably a better team this week 1 than the week 1 from last season, this early into the season. Lions got things to clean up: great NFL teams do.
I believe our 2022 Detroit Lions can and will be a playoff team this season as long as they continue to make the strides that they are and progress like the way that they are.
