I don’t expect the Lion’s to want him to cover much I think that is what Anzalone or Reeves Maybin are mostly going to be expected to do. I think he is more a Khalil Mack type player.
I think he’s going to play in the 1 or 2 downs against the run or as a edge rusher, in plays in the 3 down he would probably not play and they would put Anzalone and Collins to make the coverage, Barnes is more as a run support

Barnes was destined to be a Lion! Like his versatility as a LB, Edge Rusher and Special Teams.

They were right on ESPN, Lions fans are gonna love this guy he’s fast and makes big hits. He’s like an upgraded version of Jarrad Davis. Dare I say he reminds me of Khalil Mack with his ability to get to the quarterback I think he will develop like him. The dude covers so much ground and that’s the type of linebacker that we’ve been needing for a long-time now. I’m loving this draft from Holmes so much!

Holmes is killing it in this draft this is a true Lion and a great teammate too. I love how fast he plays as he’s giving me early Khalil Mack vibes when he first came out of Buffalo to the Raiders. This dude looks unblockable he will be a handful for blockers in this league. He gets off the ball fast the perfect type of linebacker and Lions fans are now seeing why we needed to draft heavy in the trenches now.
