@Time Bomb I can agree with that. However all he needs is time and a chance. If you’re confident and truly believe in yourself. That already is a great thing. I truly believe he won’t in anyway be a down grade. Especially with some errors witnessed at critical times with Marcus M. It hasn’t all been Marcus fault but he has contributed to a lot of it in a negative way.

I’m not expecting Arthur Smith to let him pass more than 30 times. I expect 20 to 25 attempts and heavy dose of PA. And I hope he just get the job done and put some life into our passing game and we get the W

Definitely a legendary start good or bad and i love that we waited this long to start him. Most teams would’ve thrown him to the Wolves in week 2 lol. But it’s important we put the proper team around him and build in the draft.
@Sam Christian agreed. Everybody(including me) at times wanted to see des start earlier after some of MMs mishaps but from a coaching standpoint they put him in perfectly. Gave him time to learn the offensive playbook, a chance to see different defenses in action, time to build repor with the team, etc. He seems confident and we saw he could be very accurate with the ball in preseason. I think he will be solid.

@Helen Bridges I don’t think so. MMs injury is chronic and wasn’t ever mentioned until he was benched. Arthur Smith even said that it was a performance based decision, not due to the injury. I think they were just trying to give mariota a fair chance to get rid of the rust. When he never seemed to improve, they used the bi week to prepare ridder. We will probably never know the truth, but that’s what I’ve gathered from the press conferences and such.

@Helen Bridges you gotta give the guy a chance. He had us in playoff contention. And he was out of the game for a few years so I think they thought it would start to get better later in the season as he got back in the groove of things. Now that we’re barely in contention and he’s still played mediocre, they wanted to give the rookie a shot and waited for the bye week to make the decision.
This is looking to be the right choice so far. Regardless of how Ridder performs the change has brought excitement and energy to the team and the fans at a crucial moment where we could still make the playoffs. I just hope he makes the best of the next 4 weeks to prove we didn’t make a mistake drafting him.

Desmond has come a long way. As a UC grad I am proud to see him get this opportunity. He did not have a good game in the playoffs against ALA, but neither did a lot of other teams along the way (Mich State, Notre Dame, etc). He did almost beat Georgia the year before. Go Bearcats!
This guy is going to take us far he has that superstar vibe about him I gotta good feeling Atlanta finally got the QB we needed. Go falcons go!!!
