that early toss off the back foot was pretty sweet. he could have waited another couple steps as he started to peel out, which would have been textbook but might have been the wrong play and would have potentially allowed the d to catch up/close the gap to the intended receiver, but he slung it early in his roll out which put the ball into the receivers hands at the optimal time giving the receiver an extra second or so of separation that he wouldn’t have otherwise had as the d were rushing in quite fast. ridder gave his receiver a little extra time by backfooting it to him quickly, which is a subtle but smart play and takes good vision / quick thinking.

Like this or not, we FINALLY have mobile QBs. As much as I loved Matt Ryan, his arm strength is no where what it used to be and the dude could NEVER escape the pocket. The Falcons are fun to watch again, and for a first time NFL game, Ridder showed confidence and led a 4th quarter game winning drive. I’m used to us going 0-3 in the preseason, I know it is the preseason, but DAMN it felt good to win.
His td pass was really a nice toss. Hope he does well there!
