Just a handful. Most were running slow in the 4.5’s & up. The WR’s smoked the DB times as they had 8 run in the 4.3’s.
Yessir Decobie Durant official time 4.38, and also this got to be one of the fastest draft classes in a long time all I seen was 4.4-4.5 for DBs

I remember running a 4.53 in college, but I was 165 lbs. These guys are 185-195 and running 4.3-4.6! Bigger, stronger, and faster. But if I had to point out a weakness, I would say the tackling ability has declined for one.

We got the same speed I remember clocking 4.55 in the 40 yards dash that was 20 year’s now I know I’m an 4.4
100% . It’s honestly just due to effort. Guys like to try to hit stick too much and end up arm tackling and then u got the new rules too
Since no one else is saying it, Kaylon Barnes ran an official 4.23 40. Not the unofficial 4.29. So he is officially second with that run in NFL history in the 40 time behind John Ross 4.22, and passed Chris Johnson’s 4.24
@Ngary 5 it was at a combine and his pro day but it wasn’t in the stadiums back then like it is now. And he said the time stopped him at a 4.12 and coaches stopped him at 4.08-4.00 but either way Bo was built different

The combine is so weird to me. The fastest times that I saw came out to be slower when the “official” time came out but the slower times somehow turned out to be faster when the “official” time came out
@Vince W I can explain why/how that happens and the disparities in times if you’re seriously wondering.. my question wasn’t meant to be negative guess I jus assumed most people new why that happened
@Vince W I agree it confuses people and they should find a better way to optimize the way they do it.. a guy can say he likes his “unofficial” time not run again only to fund out a half hour later the real official time may be way different.. like what happened to Olave
@Stack Bundles yeah that’s what I mean it showed a 4.26 for Olaf’s but came back at 4.39. That’s a pretty huge difference even if the time was off a little bit it makes no sense that it was off that much by .13 of a second.
I mean, it showed that Kaylon Barnes ran an unofficial 4.29.
But got an official 4.23, which is supposedly the second fastest recorded 40 in combine history.
There’s one example that’s contradictory to your observations.

@Stack Bundles He was already being projected as a 2nd rounder before the combine and you can’t reach athleticism like that
His ball skills aren’t good enough to be a 1st round pick, I’d put money he won’t be one. He’s a 2nd or 3rd at best
I miss the days when Primetime was doing commentary on DB day at the combine.
It would be neat to see the times for the first 10 yards an the last 10 yards. See who’s the quickest out the whole an who has the highest top end speed.
they only did that for the DLs which is cool but ifs big for the DBs & WRs too

Kalon Barnes gets through the gears so smooth… haven’t looked but gotta be a track guy.
To see these young men travel almost 30 feet in a second is stunning.
Baylor showed up and showed out. Literally everybody from Baylor at every position in the entire combine ran fast times. Everybody.
That Barnes time is so insane the background gets blurry when he runs.
