Beware of New England’s baiting the secondary and linebackers to the line, a tactic they use regularly to set up the pass to their RB, TE or WR in the flats with a convoy… including taking the top off the defense or a fast crossing route. Defense secondaries that consistently practice locating and playing the football instead of the man when the ball is in the air are usually the best turnover units…. taking the cue to look back for the ball by watching the receiver outstretched hands. An old coach told me 50 some years ago something and it has stuck with me all my life. He said if I draw a play up and you are X and you are suppose to run the ball say up the middle,off guard say. But my ball carrier every God blessed time tries to be the hero and run it around the tackle or end, where 1 out of 5 times he makes a gain. That man is going to be cut by me. He said I don`t give a damn if you gain 1 inch you run where I draw the play for you to run. If every God blessed time you run it there the hole is not there,he said I don`t give a damn-you still run where I tell you and I will eventually find some players that will make the damn hole for you..lol. That is what Coach Pees is saying about how Belichick coaches his RB`s in New England. They aren`t flashy but they are physical and play old school football..lol

No outcome change if Eric Harris moves to nickel. Avery Williams is your 4th CB covering a #1 WR who was drafted early. Avery is undersized. He’s suppose to get beat! Harris would’ve got beat too!

As a falcons fan I have come to love DP as a coordinator but this interview hit me in a different way. He almost passes on the blame to the physical players…
Idk yet but I hope I’m wrong. I really want him to be a great defensive coordinator but idk…he seems very delfective
