Dan Campbell, Brad Holmes & Rod Wood talk offseason at NFL Annual Meetings | Twentyman in the Huddle

On this episode of the Twentyman in the Huddle podcast presented by Microsoft, Tim Twentyman sits down with Detroit Lions general manager Brad Holmes, team president Rod Wood and head coach Dan Campbell in Palm Beach, Florida from the NFL Annual Meetings.

First, Tim chats with Brad about the Lions’ approach to free agency this offseason and how that differed from early on his tenure. Brad discusses why Detroit wasn’t heavy into the external market but was still pleased to pick up cornerback D.J. Reed, linebacker Grant Stuard and defensive lineman Roy Lopez. He also praises Dan's ability to replenish the coaching staff despite several departures, provides an update on Aidan Hutchinson and shares his perspective on Detroit’s rule and bylaw proposals.

Next, Rod joins the show to offer all the latest from the business side of the organization. Rod discusses the importance of securing the Ford Field naming rights extension with Ford ahead of the 2027 Final Four in Detroit and shares insight into the locker room and weight room renovations at the Meijer Performance Center in Allen Park. Switching gears to the international market, Rod shares why the organization wanted to pursue Brazil in the NFL’s Global Markets Program and how operations in Germany and Canada have been successful. Plus, Rod talks about the possibility of a Lions’ international game in 2026.

To close the show, Dan chats with Tim about the first wave of free agency and why DJ, Roy and Grant all fit the team’s culture.
