ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys were pleased with the return of defensive end DeMarcus Ware to practice on Wednesday, however wide receiver Dez Bryant missed practice with some stiffness in his back.
Team officials don’t believe Bryant’s injury is serious because he’s dealt with this issue in the past.
Ware had missed the last three weeks while dealing with a thigh injury. His return will bolster a pass rush in need of an elite player.
“DeMarcus Ware is one of the best players in the league,” coach Jason Garrett said. “So it’s certainly better to have him than not have him and hopefully he’s healthy and ready to go. He’s a guy who can impact the ballgame himself, he’s done that throughout his career.
“He’s a mismatch type player. Typcially he gets a lot of attention and like a lot of great players in this league he continues to show up and have an impact on the ballgame. He’s a great player and hopefully he’ll have a great week of practice and hopefully he’ll be available for this game.”
