Why didn’t the Cowboys go for a field goal to tie the game?
They were way too far. Zeurlin shanked two kicks already, so chance a 45yd+ kick was less of an option than getting further downfield. It was a good game.

The call wasn’t the problem, it was the execution. Dak throws the ball late, behind, and below. Watch the replay closely. When Lamb reaches the right hash mark, he turns and is expecting the football. He waits an eternity (in football time) for the ball to come in and when it finally does, it’s behind him at knee level. If Dak makes a halfway decent throw, we’re talking about CeeDee Lamb’s first NFL touchdown on 4th and 3 for the new-look Cowboys under the genius McCarthy. Instead, he made a bad throw and everyone looks stupid now.
