Jerry Jones reached out to Jimmy Johnson around 2015 and asked him what’s wrong with the Cowboys. The Boys were coming off that 3 year stretch of choking out at the end of the year.
Jimmy told him the Cowboys dont play for their job and what he meant was, the head coach cant instill fear in the players because Jerry is so involved in the team that the players know that they can walk into Jerry’s office and reverse any decision the Cowboys coach makes. Jimmy said the only way to motivate a player is to bench them, because it strikes at their pride. You can yell at them all day in practice, but if they know they ain’t getting benched, it’s an exercise in futility.
jimmy was on a radio talk show a few years ago and said he told Jerry to stay out of the locker room and dont let the players in his office during the season.
jimmy wa asked if Jerry listened to what he said and he just laughed. so their you go. Jerry Jones swallows his pride asks Jimmy Johnson what he can do to make the Cowboys better, THEN doesnt take his advice.

1st Year Coaches Rarely Win The Big One

Not saying he’s a Jimmy Johnson but what did Jimmy Johnson do his first year and what did he do after?

Oh btw Jerry said he would pay any amount to win another Lombardi. Offer an outrageous amount of money to Jimmy Johnson as GM. Let him hire coaches that have great skills.

Mike McCarthy is 8-22 his last 2 years coaching when the Packers hired LaFleur there was instant improvement. When Mike got hired by the Cowboys there was instant regression with a miracle win against Atlanta to not start 0-4 with an almost entire healthy roster. In a business thats result driven like the NFL coaches need to show something right off the bat like what Rivera and Judge are doing who had the same difficult offseason as McCarthy. With Rivera you can see the teams identity is gonna be hard nose defense. Whats the vision with McCarthy? Get blown out most of the game and rack up a bunch of garbage time stats and ridiculous special teams trickery?

The only question should be whether he’s the best we can do. I haven’t seen much this season to make me think so.
