Should be an exciting season for Dallas! They seem like they have what it takes to win the NFC East again this year!

@52:00 I think there is a lot of middle ground on the issue of gun violence. To buy a gun you do have to have a background check. The problem is, maybe I missed something, there was nothing that would have been flagged in a background check. So you could hold it for 6 months but it doesnt change the fact this person was willing to take the life of their grandma and innocent kids.

Its sad but there are laws that are in place that people who never bought a gun think arent there. But if you have a clean record like many of these people who do these horrific things have the best way is to spend money on security for the schools.

The final part is, the 2nd amendment was literally put in place to prevent a tyrannical government from forming and preventing foreign invasion. Thats the history behind it. Its a constitutional right that is worth having. It is also a right that by governments own stats protect hundreds of thousands of people a year.

But there are a lot of things that can be done. For instance, why cant there be a tax credit or incentive to have families not able to buy a gun safe to get one? Why cant we launch advertising campaigns about gun safety? Why cant there be free or subsidized gun safety training? Instead we get politicians saying take all the guns or have teachers carry guns and the rest of us have to suffer through on no action taking place.

I totally agree. If somebody who’s going to do bad things wants to get a weapon he will. We need good guys with weapons to stop bad guys with weapons.

    Clayton Johnson

100% agree. I would also just add that an AR-15 and a handgun are the same gun in functionality. An AR-15 is not an assault weapon. Assault weapons are already illegal to own unless you have a special license that is extremely hard to get.

D Brewer

The gun problem? Let’s spend just a little money to protect our children the way we protect our travel, our money, etc. Single point entry, metal detection, armed SRO.

    Clayton Johnson

@kyle watson background checks are already required. Problem is most people have clean records and how do you know if a person is going to do something bad if they have no record.

And I’m not against requiring training to help prevent accidents but training a crazy person to use a gun probably isn’t going to stop said crazy person from shooting people

    kyle watson

@Clayton Johnson Bro, of all the developed countries we have the most guns and most school shootings….You think it’s a coincidence that all that correlates with us having the most relaxed gun laws of the developed countries???

    Clayton Johnson

@kyle watson not saying there aren’t things that could be done. I’m just saying it’s not as simple as “common sense gun laws”. There is a lot to it and a lot of factors that have to be considered

    Rodney's Next Chapter

Good point, these shootings just don’t happen where there are other guns around.

Jamie Lee

why no interest in Cole Beasley??????

    Jamie Lee

Derek sounded like he knew something the public doesn’t about Cole….Cole is a good WR

    Rodney's Next Chapter

He trashed and badmouthed the Cowboys on the way out last time.

Christopher Michaels

First 2/3 or so was solid. I listen tune into cowboys radio talk to hear about the cowboys. I don’t need a news segment about the shooting that happened. Already see it everywhere else on the internet right now. Respect your outlook and I don’t dislike you guys any more or less because of it. Hope y’all stay safe and healthy.

mastersonic707

I wanna see Storey Jackson

Steven J

If they want to talk about something other than football, fine. They should do some research first. So many things they bring up show their lack of understanding. They obviously have limited knowledge of guns and the laws around them. 🙄 They went from the break to CNN.

    Clayton Johnson

I don’t disagree.. however the “assault weapon” thing is a very common misconception and same with the background checks. I don’t blame them for not knowing but I do agree that if they are going to use their platform to speak on it then they should do research first

Ryu Hayabusa

Appreciate the conversation on the gun violence. Somethings are bigger than sports and need to be talked about. Things need to change because this cannot be a society norm. Folks that go grocery shopping or children that go off to school should be able to come back safe to their loved ones.

Neal Hamamura

Thank you for not being afraid to discuss a difficult topic. It was interesting for me to hear what some people in Texas think about the topic. For some people outside of Texas there may be a perception of how Texas people feel about guns based on what certain Texas leaders say on TV. I agree a middle ground needs to be reached. It can only happen through dialogue.

DAK4 Cowboys

Dumb to be talking about TSmith on 2nd team on the freaking 2nd day of shorts lol. Y’all act like it’s easy to pick up all this stuff on the second day. Lol

    Rodney's Next Chapter

Coaches just giving the image of him earning his way to starter

John Crabtree

Maybe they should have kept cedric wilson he filled in nicely for Michael gallop and could return punts when asked to

leadfoot97

If ya practice the rook in both guard and tackle in my opinion negatively affects his other teammates. The coaches have a view of what there players are and are following their plans for their players.

Justin Clifton

They just lost three players one of them is only played in one year his entire 7 years in the NFL

Lambeaux

I hope TJ Vasher reach that potential

Chris Anderson

Derek “My expectation is that you keep my kid safe.” Then we should put armed guards in our schools. That’s COMMON SENSE.
