Cowboys Break: Backup Plan? | Dallas Cowboys 2021

Is it even possible to consider the backup QB spot when so much is unsolved with Dak's situation? We tried to debate both topics on today's show.

Garrett Gilbert could be a solid backup if Dalton leaves

If they dont agare to a contract (Dak and Cowboys) can the Cowboys place the nonexclusive tag on Dak and if a team signs him we get two 1st round picks for him. If they can then use those two picks to move up to take Lawrence or another QB that they like.

    Hawk 215

I am not 100% sure but I dont think they can trade a player when they are a tag

    Benjamin Garza

@Hawk 215 yes they can 100% sure on that

    Hawk 215

@Benjamin Garza the reason I say that cuz everyone is talking about letting g dak walk but they dont say anything about getting picks for dak what do you think we can get for Dak

    Benjamin Garza

@Hawk 215 well to me it’s only a last resort on the nonexclusive tag and getting two first rounders for him. Even if they just tag him to trade think 49s , Patriots, and Indy could give us their 202o 1st and 3rd and 1st and 2nd in 2021

    Benjamin Garza

@Hawk 215 theres no way Cowboys just let him go without any compensation

Dak leaves and u want lance

Jerad Odell

I wouldn’t pay Dalton over $18.

Chris Besaw

Did paying a backup QB really pay off??? We failed to make the playoffs, and without Andy we would have ended up with a top 5 pick

Hawk 215

What’s a nonexclusive tag pick

Warwick Dennis

We’ve seen enough of Ben Dinucci

    Hawk 215

We saw 1 game of Ben Denucci and wasn’t the worst so it’s way to early to get rid of him

David Williams

It would be cheaper for the cowboys to sign back to a long-term contract than the franchise tag him

Warwick Dennis

I agree sign Prescott now, for whatever there are smarter people out there than me and you. They can figure it out

REEL LIVIN

The Cowboys should go after Watson or Aaron Rogers

Paul Smethers

It all depends on the OL being intact in 2021 as even Dak would struggle behind the OL that played in 2020. Cowboys may struggle again if half the defense are rookies and veteran minimum players.

These takes are getting worse and worse, Stafford?? cmon now..

For practical purposes we spent *2* 1st round picks on LB. Jaylon was 34th overall. Only two picks out of the 1st round.
Taco, Jaylon, LVE. Basically, 3 first round picks defensive picks since 2016, and all meh. The undiscussed story has been our failure *successfully* draft defense since 2016. We’ve spent resources, and got nothing out of them this year.

Nick Eatman is a Dak hater. He said “Dak gets injured that’s what he does now” it was one freak injury I wouldn’t call him injury prone

My Name

Time to move on. He not worth the money he went 2-11 against winning team in the last two years and 8-11 in the last two years overall

Casa De Finch

Richard Sherman is done, he doesn’t want to tackle. Watch the film from the game against SF he avoids tackles. He don’t want to play safety

JustDriveMotorsports

Nick is saying they can’t win if they are spending so much of their cap on the rb position

Warwick Dennis

Put an offensive line in front of Elliot and then let’s see what he’ll do, which is something Prescott is going to need also. This team has always been a grind you down type of team why change the formula, Dallas has a great double headed run team don’t mess with it. Man Dallas needs defense that’s what they need, Dallas offense is pretty set.
