No question Beane is smart but I’ve said he is lucky too (which is lucky for us). He was looking to use those 6th and 7th round picks to move up a bit but never had to as teams would not trade and his guys fell to us anyway. Then he had those late round picks burning a hole in his pocket so why not bring in some good competition at Kicker. A pick you’re surprised you still had.
All you said …. but he told us. Didn’t need to. Very humble, told us he got lucky and they fell to us. Could very easily have put his finger in his chest and pumped himself, classy. Our organization has gone from misfits without a cause to a …… football destination. Free agents wanting to come is what you want.

Remember even though we’ve signed a lot of players from FA that doesn’t mean their job is a guarantee. You have to prove yourself that you belong in Buffalo, McDermott is a straight up HC and make you work very hard, makes you a better player, better person and make sure you do your job right. This offseason is really gonna be interesting to see who makes the 53 man roster.

Great draft and great analysis by Maddy Glab and Chris Brown. I’ve always been impressed with Bills Insider Chris Brown (I have most of the back issues of “Shout!”). My appreciation for Maddy Glad has grown with her appreciation of the Buffalo Bills, the organization, and the fans almost day by day and week by week. Don’t let her look deceive you, she’s a pro at her job. I’m afraid that she’s so good that the national media outlets will woo her away from us. In the meantime, I’m enjoying her picking the brains of Brownie. Love you guys!

I like that Davis/Hodgins are both two tall/long targets (just what we needed) with real experience by getting better year by year in college and both finishing last year with over 80 catches/1000 yards all be it a bit under the radar. They both improved through-out college, and they will also push guys like Foster/Duke to play better and work harder during Preseason (and whatever training camp if any before-hand). It was somewhat interesting that 3 of our first 4 picks seemed to be guys that other teams were reluctant to grab despite their pre-draft rankings (Epenesa/Moss/Fromm) but they seemed like the BPA and at good value. Add in Diggs to this class and it really sticks out! I give this Draft an A- but you never really can tell until we give it some time. BEANE DOES IT AGAIN!
Hodgins had 3 drops on 179 attempts… I remember a series where we went 3 and out, with 3 straight drops…
