The refs stopping the clock at 2:05 was pivotal. It should have gone to the two minute warning. Jacksonville had one time out, which they would have burned at around 1:55 after the Raiders ran the ball on 1st down. Then the Raiders run on 2nd down and run the clock down to about 1:10. Raiders run on 3rd down and run clock down to about 20+ seconds left in the game and call time out. They then punt or even run around and throw it downfield (a slow looped pass out the back of the end zone) to burn around 7 seconds or even kick the FG if that is an option. The call was huge. Obviously, the team has a lot of shortcomings, but this call was a game changer. It was kind of fitting that the refs had a critical role in the last game in Oakland.

    Just think

true but Gruden should have called a play action on the first and 15 w/5 sec left. maybe he was in shock because of the bs ref call. it would have fooled the D as they were stacked against an obvious run, and even if he threw an incompletion, the 5 sec would have elapsed. because of the 3 blowouts, the game was meaningless except for the celebration of leaving Oak by the loving fans. why the celebration??? Mark wanted to leave Oakland for years he tried everything to do so.

    Mark Outlaw

Just think – itโ€™s a good point you make; it is a good clock management scenario – it is one of the instances where you can be more balanced. The risk there is the QB throws it away at 2:01 or so because of a heavy rush, but you could instruct him to eat the ball. Or that he fumbles. But some risk/reward is involved. There are some clock management scenarios that there are more than one viable option for, and if they work, everyone congratulates you, if not, yah know the rest. The 3rd down pass to Williams was also likely the difference between Jacksonville having enough time to get a FG or going for a TD. That incompletion gave them the time to score the TD (the defense was bad here of course – multiple receivers caught balls and walked out of bounds, Minshew running etc) .

    Just think

@Mark Outlaw passing or running, the fumble risk is the same. especially the way the qb is protected now. they were stacking the line, run fake roll out is a completion, or sack at close to the line of scrimmage. if Carr is stupid enough to throw the ball away before 5 sec he should be benched. lol Williams should be a back up and drops lots in pressure situations. anyway, after 3 blowouts, the season is over.

I seen the pain in his eyes a couple times, Josh Jacobs you’re a BEAST

    Robert Dore

He certainly is the ‘real deal’. The more I see him the more I’m reminded of the great Barry Sanders.

    Benjamin H Mendez

Josh Jacob’s was the only one doing his job.

    Bo Rerun

Raider’s don’t stand to win anymore… Have you seen the pain of the real fans

Anthony Funtanilla

The Raiders have been getting screwed by the NFL since forever. Getting screwed again for the final game in Oakland should’ve been expected. Maybe in Vegas it’ll change but I don’t see it happening.

    Benjamin H Mendez

I HOPE IT GOES VERY WELL IN VEGAS I STAY LOYAL TO THE NATION…

    Chris H

It will be different, the league is in bed with us on this Vegas move, lots of money up for grabs if its a success and the Bank of America loan the Raiders got to make up for Sheldon Adelson pulling out of the deal was co-signed by the NFL, trust me they will want their money and they will want Vegas to be a success. Now the league screwed us every way they could this season, ( it reminded me of old times when Al Davis was still alive and was public enemy number one with the league office), they did this for two reasons, one they did not want a lame duck franchise playing its last year in Oakland winning and possibly hosting a playoff game and they wanted to get back at the city of Oakland for the lawsuit against the league. The league is so crooked and all about money and manipulating the games in order to serve its needs that I will be shocked if you don’t suddenly see the Raiders getting a push next season much like the Rams and Chargers did year one in LA. It will be weird to watch but I think we will actually be getting breaks and calls in our favor for once.

    Just think

@Chris H very well said. also the NFL is legally classified as “entertainment” for betting reasons. btw, Gruden should have called a play action on the first and 15 w/5 sec left til the 2min. maybe he was in shock because of the bs ref call. it would have fooled the D as they were stacked against an obvious run, and even if Carr threw an incompletion, the 5 sec would have elapsed. because of the 3 blowouts, the game was meaningless except for the celebration of leaving Oak by the loving fans. why the celebration??? Mark wanted to leave Oakland for years he tried everything to do so and has completely screwed them over. welcome to a plastic stadium (used much more for concerts, etc) in a plastic city running out of water. the refs are the stars in the NFL now and will magically get the calls going their way. Oakland could have had a 55,000 open air stadium with a Raider’s museum, commercial, residential, parks and still kept playing at the old stadium while this was done on the existing land and moving the A’s across the highway to a waterfront small stadium as well.

Excuse me, but that dummy jumped over his teammate’s head and caused that ball to hit his teammate in the head…haven’t they watched outfielders in baseball??? Freaking DC, who seems to be an enigma, throws these beautiful passes that just bounce off his receivers like they’re wearing football repellent…didn’t Doss know that was the play of the season? couldn’t someone have called off the other guy there???

    Bo Rerun

8 more garbage years to go

Rivers is going to crush the Raiders secondary. As a Raider fan I already know the outcome. Chargers 35-10

    Robert Dore

Go to Ricky’s in Oakland get a double Cutty on the Rocks and calm the f$%^down.

    GlocksRuS

    37-13 lol

Oakland Native

Despite their fourth-straight loss, the Oakland Raiders, somehow, havenโ€™t been eliminated from playoff contention yet. Sitting at 6-8, they are still alive heading into the final two weeks of the season as the No. 6 spot is still available in the AFC.
However, the odds of the Raiders making the playoffs are basically zero. But nevertheless, there is a path. Here is what Oakland would need to clinch a playoff berth:

Raiders win in Week 16 and Week 17

Titans lose in Week 16 and Week 17

Steelers lose in Week 16 and Week 17

Browns lose in Week 16 OR Week 17

Colts lose twice in Weeks 15, 16, 17.

    cjb cjb

Oakland Native I saw this too, I’m rooting for them but we should’ve won this game. Very upset about them not finishing strong vs the jags. That would be awesome if we got some calls our way and this scenario plays out. Either way, I like the path and pace we’re at. Maybe next season we can clinch the playoff berth and keep up with the rest of the afc teams.

    Benjamin H Mendez

@cjb cjb REPPIN THE 1 TRUE NATION FROM KERNCOUNTY, I BELIEVE WE’LL BE IN THE PLAYOFFS NEXT SEASON NO DOUBT.

    Robert Smith

what would be the point?? they would be out the first round!! sorry p[lay and terrible coaching…

    Just think

    hahaahahahahahaaha

    cjb cjb

Robert Smith if we made the playoffs and lost I truly wouldn’t be upset and I’d be happy just for making the playoffs. I would probably attend the game for the experience.
