That was all the NFL’s doing.
When folks trash Derek Carr I don’t think they see the big picture. Not only does he lead the league in Passing right now but he will be inside the top 50 all time before the end of this Season. He owns virtually every Raiders Passing record that there is. He has played through multiple injuries, has had multiple coaches, some of the Worst Defenses in the league, has been to multiple Pro Bowls and has never had a “go to” receiver aside from Crabtree (when he had him he had an mvp like season before breaking his ankle) The last time BEFORE Carr that we had a “good” QB was back in 2002. Players like Carr don’t come around every day and I think that of all the things to complain about as a Raiders fan he should be one of the last.

I can remember the graphic played on TV around 2013 of Raiders QB’s since we had Gannon. Anyone remember JaMarcus Russell? How about Bruce Gradkowski, McGloin, how about trading two 1st round picks for a washed up Carson Palmer, how about Tuaiasasopo, Boller, Campbell damn lol. CARR can get happy feet, but give him a good to great defense, #1 wide out, keep him upright less than 20 sacks and he will get you in the playoffs consistently with a chance to win the super bowl.

@Iceman Gradkowski is hands down my favorite qb of that list. Campbell close second because Hue Jackson knew how to use him until his injury. Palmer used us a stepping stone. Won’t go into Russell lol

Raiders are in the same spot that they have been in for the last three years. The team has to come together and stay in the fight by being aggressive all 4 quarters and establish the run game. It’ll open up big pass plays and slants to get carrs confidence going. He’s a mental guy so if his confidence is there, he can play elite football.
I think Drake needs more touches. Jacob was good last year, not too much this year!
I watch WFT game this week, Payne on their defense line is massive. Offense they can run the ball make Heinecke throw the ball to convert 3rd downs. He always throws short routes

@Jon Burrows according to whom? Winning is a team effort. Those guys had some stacked teams. We’ve had mostly bad teams for the vast majority of Carr’s career.

This a revenge game for Raiders for what WFT did and for Del Rio for Raiders gettin rid of him.
I love my Raiders and I like Carr as a person. Carr is truly a good person, high integrity and I respect him which means a lot in this day and age. That said, he too often depicts things as “great” which doesn’t show in the W/L column over his tenure (i.e. coaching, players, talent level, etc). We are at the upper end of the “mid-tier NFL teams” and we struggle with consistent play. At best, we are a good team…not bad, but no where near a top 10 team or great team. PREDICTION: If we make the playoffs , it will be as the last team in due to some type of tie-break formula or we will be the team that just misses the playoffs.
Every Raiders loss can be explained by outside influences. Gruden’s 2 losses when he knew the guillotine was going to fall, and the post #11 incident, which was almost like a player dying. The Raiders are a good team. If there are no more major negatives outside influences I like their chances.
I hope we throw Mariota out there against the Chiefs we must win
