Now that Big Ben is gone, Matt Canada has full control of the offense because he has a mobile QB that knows the offense, instead of sitting in the shotgun formation like a sitting duck.

@Patrick kinda sorta. In 2019 with Fichtner as OC, Rudolph and Duck were doing more or less the same thing – run, short pass, pass. At least Duck made attempts for big plays, which was fun to watch. However, It was exhausting to see the same offensive scheme that was successful with Bell and Brown, being implemented with the new players. Najee gives me hope b/c he fought for extra yards each time he got the ball, even if he was stopped at the line of scrimmage. I certainly hope this offense can get going so I’m giving Canada the benefit of the doubt

@Edwardwell ever since Matt Canada became OC he’s expressed how he wants mobility in the qb position cause he wants to implement RPOs, play actions, etc, but Ben was incapable of running that scheme (not 100% confirmed but I’ve heard around locker room news that Canada and Ben bumped heads when it came to that), but ultimately if you guys are looking for a new offensive scheme this year looks like the year to implement it.

@Edward so when Canada came in it was his word vs the established veteran qb of the franchise so I think he just allowed Ben to get that last year under his own offensive comfort to retire peacefully

@Patrick oh for sure. I agree with everything you said. Ben sure limited Canada’s scheme which is why it looked the same as previous years. For sure you want to please your verteran qb’s swan song year. That’s why I’m hoping for a change this year. If I see the same offensive scheme I will get mad. There’s no excuses. It’s a new team
