    @CYUH Arxtic  lol on a fumble recovery there is no down by contact. Down by contact is only on plays where there is clear possession of the football. In a fumble recovery there is not clear possession until someone has the ball under control.

Texans Recovered and was downed during the recovery 3 players on 1 player who recovered to then have the ball pulled from between his legs.
Really Refs. Bad calls during the fourth quarter to pick up flags for no calls. SMH
