@Empty JuiceBoxx That’s one play out of a bunch of plays where Wentz had to hold onto the ball because nobody was able to get open. On 2 of our first 4 drives Reich ran on 1st and 2nd down and gained nothing. That put Wentz in 3rd and longs leading to 3 and outs. On the final drive Reich ran on 1st down and used a Hines screen pass on 2nd down and gained nothing. That left Wentz on another 3rd and long situation. Also not to mention the Oline allowed 25 pressures in the game. Wentz was put in bad situations for most of the game. Him missing one or two throws wasn’t the reason they lost the game. This was a bad team loss from coaching to the players in all 3 phases of the team

HC Frank Reich needs to do a better job of incorporating more players into the schemes and lineup. Why isn’t Mack in use? A rushing attack can be 3 or 4 pronged to keep rushers fresh. Where is Strachan? Where’s Blankenship? Can there be more of Patmon? Granson needs to be in there playing too, use both tight ends! Where are the free agents? Wentz is one of the least sacked QBs in the AFC the offensive line is doing a great job at 26! Last year Wentz took 50 sacks! But Reich & Wentz could bootleg, design more runs, use reverses, try the Philly special & make more plays using the sidelines & misdirection. The running game could use more RBs and maybe an FB too. Heck get Hundley & Ehlinger involved too! Time to open the playbook.

Frank can argue all he wants that the offensive struggles stem from stacked boxes but the truth is this offense is so vanilla at this point. Although the controversy, that TB game was our most dynamic game plan to date prior to the “X” amount of consecutive passing plays. I know this team is heavily run-centric but he needs to unleash the receiving options. The TE’s arent being schemed more than 5 routes a game and thats due to them staying in and blocking. He needs to develop a more consistent intermediate route scheme with a high- low route tree. The WRs arent winning, its time to incorporate more checkdown options and stay ahead of the chains. Lastly, we need more RPO and play action. If the defense is stacking the boxes, keep them guessing. Theres no way an immobile Philip Rivers was schemed more RPO than Wentz, that needs to change.
