While Palmer stumbled his way into decent production for his fantasy owners last week against the 49ers, a Thursday match-up with Seattle’s second-ranked pass defense doesn’t exactly scream reprise. He has yet to put together back-to-back strong starts this season and has not shown any improvement from his previous year spent in Oakland with lesser-talented personnel.
Prior to this past week, Palmer had gone four straight games with fewer than 250 passing yards in each and had just three touchdowns to eight interceptions while facing defenses much softer than that of the Seahawks. The increased use of Andre Ellington may give the ground game some backbone and help alleviate some of the pressure on Palmer, but it is unlikely to open things up enough to the point where the passing game will be effective. He is not a recommended fantasy start.
