We should keep Humphrey now that Wilkerson’s out

@Chobbledocker Wilkerson will have a hard time getting a spot on the team, though. The Patriots will not add more than 6 receivers to the team. Parker, Bourne and Meyers are safe. So only three spots remain open for Wilkerson, Humphrey, Nixon, Thornton, Agholor and Hammond. Thornton is also safe on the team. So that leaves only two spots open. Wilkerson, Nixon, Agholor, Humphrey and Hammond will fight for the last two spots. Hammond won’t make it. That leaves Wilkerson, Nixon, Agholor and Humphrey.
The question will be how does Agholor continue. If Agholor continues to play like this then he will be safe. Or will he be traded for additional picks? Maybe he will be involved in a trade with Roquan Smith? Nixon also deserves to be added to the squad.
Nixon showed his presence in training camp but also in both games. There are two options.
Agholor is traded and Nixon and Humphrey are added to the team or Agholor and Nixon are added to the squad and Humphrey ends up on the practice squad. Off the top of my head I can think of two teams that could still use receivers (Bears, Seahawks).
In: Parker, Bourne, Meyers, Thornton, Nixon, Agholor/Humphrey
Out: Hammond, Wilkerson, Agholor/Humphrey

@Neeno He is right in his statement. The 2nd string of defense looks good. Against the Giants, the 2nd string of defense performed well. The preseason is to see which players are eligible for the 2nd string, what level each player is at, which player has potential or where you need to improve. The preseason is important. Stop talking down the preseason.

We didn’t even Blitz that much, most of the QB pressures came just from the d line
Pats front 7 looked amazing but I feel like thats more due to the Panthers horrible O-line. Patriots can’t say much because their O-line is almost as chaotic. It worries me more than the secondary right now. Lil Jordan was the player of the game after having a solid game last week. It will be interesting to see what happens to Wilkerson and Nixon as a result of Lil Jordan’s play. Of those two players Nixon has more special teams worth while Wilkerson has proven he can be a solid backup option in the NFL. Zappe played a textbook game for a project QB. Make some nice throws while making massive errors. At least it isn’t the insane meh I feel when I watch Hoyer.
Panthers only played 2nd and 3rd string the entire game, the first half wasn’t bad going against pats starter.
